Absolutely he is. A number of us here owe him a great deal of gratitude. No way could I have gotten to my price for a 2020 when those vehicles were just hitting dealer lots. Dealers want to move 2019s so were much less aggressive on pricing for 2020s for the moment.

R_spec gave me a circle A pin also. When I went to my dealer for the deal consultation I waited to present it until we had reached their best price. By that time they were below the A price so it was not useful to me. The rebates were stacked from there. I think that, among those with Circle A status, I have been the only person who has said it was not used due to the dealer pricing lower than A price. At least I educated my salesman who admitted he had never seen an A pin. The sales manager knew of it when he closed the deal without it. This was July 7, '19.

You did well negotiating below circle A. I’m assuming you got a 2019? Might be possible for a savy negotiator to do the same on a 2020 too? With no circle A rebates going back to dealer, wonder how the dealer makes any money doing their own deal? Not sure if hold-back rebates still exists or not? I had pricing and incentives nailed down in a little over an hour so it was a stress free ordeal. I’ve spent 4 hours at dealers jacking around before and my time starts to become valuable and I want out of there. The beauty of this forum and all our communication is we at least know what is possible? May be difficult to repeat some deals, but we know the potential exist.

It is my impression that Genesis dealers get a check from Genesis corporate for any incentives they process. So yeah, I don't know why they would mind allowing that. As you say, I can see them holding firm onto their side of the profit, but for the rebates and incentives it should not have an effect on their profit margin.

From everything I've read, only the Circle A cert allows stacking any and all incentives, while all other Circle plans do not allow ANY stacking. So when the lease cash, end of year bonus cash, competitive rebate, military rebate, and subsidized low money factor are in play, almost certainly Circle A beats out most if not all other plans.

Now with regard to dealer discount, most dealers either said they CANNOT apply this kind of discount per Circle A rules or they said, "This is the best price period, no further discounts". As seen posted on this board, the Circle help folks will gladly state that Circle A does indeed allow for a dealer discount. When I sent a copy of their answer to the dealer I was negotiating with, then and only then did they take the time to look into it and respond with a dealer discount.

Flying out of state with my wife tomorrow morning to pick up my G70 and road trip it 700 miles home over the weekend. Probably won't sleep tonight, can't wait!!:cheerie: I'll post my deal when I get back.

Fingers crossed for you @PL718! (y)

Pumped to hear updates about your purchase! You're going to be in the small group of us that bought out of state. Definitely send us pics!!

Yes a 2019 in July, build date December 2018. This car was on display at a nearby mall and I was able to examine it closely for about 15 minutes, all panel gaps, any scratches, cleanliness, tire type and so on before going to the dealer. They delivered it the next business day. It had been on their inventory for at least 3 1/2 months as I saw it there in March when I visited the first time. I was surprised at their eagerness to cut the price but made no resistance to their action. Once they were below A price I presented it on the off chance they could justify going further but they stayed with their deal. No complaint for me. The discussion on this forum about the advantages of leasing tipped me that direction.
How they justify their price? Dunno.

I currently live in North Alabama, but our dealerships here are terrible and I've decided there's absolutely no reason to do business here. I've gone out of state for any serious negotiations. After 3 weeks of efforts with the same dealership, I have received a final offer on a 2019 Mallorca Blue Elite. $41,200 MSRP; I negotiated down to $31,000 sale price with the OTD cost being $32,611 (They had already reduced the sale price to $35k). I dealt with both the general manager and sales consultants. They seemed to be pretty open and honest about the fact that there are way too many new 2019 models on the lots everywhere and were baffled that so many dealerships still haven't discounted their remaining 2019 models (Spoke with one dealership in FL that has over 50 "new" 2019 models that would not negotiate discounts at all). I haven't read too far back into the thread, so unsure of how this compares to negotiations earlier on in the year, but I wanted people to know that this is possible.. you might just have to wait a little bit. Anyway, now comes the challenge of convincing my wife that 24.7% off MSRP is a good deal.

Went to a dealership yesterday. Told them I had Circle A but it was largely ignored. The salesman was nice but then, of course, I had to deal with the Sales Manager and had to listen to how great a deal he’s giving me and how he’s been doing it 30 years so he’s gonna cut the BS and get me a great deal. He talked so much (worst mistake any salesman can make) and he actually underbid himself at one point:LOL: He was fair on the trade and upped it to offset the OTD price. I wound up walking. They called and lowered the price but not enough. At this point I can use Circle A on a 2020 and be pretty close to where he was.

Assuming the same tax rate, term and dealer fees, and if you use Circle A the price difference between a 2019 Sport and 2020 Sport only seems to be $60/month (assuming my math is correct). I will be interested to see if there are any further short term end of year incentives to move 2019s so the inventory doesn't need to be carried over.

2020 G70 3.3T AWD Elite
MSRP 49300
bought at 47091 (+tax/tags)
financed, not leased
Didn't qualify for any of the current incentives (conquest/military/etc)
Pics coming soon, but she's a looker. Mallorca blue with the brown interior.

better late than never 😂 had time for a wash and wax today so it was a good time for pictures. Sidenote: 1 month in and loving it. Wife tends to steal it when she leaves before me though 😄

Really nice. Especially like the interior colors.

That does look sharp! Congrats!

Thanks- I initially thought black and brown together were a little funky, but when you’re sitting in it, all the nice silver metal pieces tie it together.
Any chance you can ditch that front plate thing? it really detracts from the front look. I’ve managed to do it for about 7 months now, and here in NY it’s a question of “for how long”. I keep the second plate in the trunk in case I do get stopped I can at least say I’m waiting for the right holder.

I was wondering if that was intentional or not too. @honorable flea if you didn't take the plate off just for the pics, Get a phillips head screwdriver into those 3 holes and take that little back plate off!

Picked up my 2019 G70 3.3T RWD Prestige over the weekend. I just had to get the Santiago Silver (not available for 2020) and the double bonus was that I was able to negotiate a great deal. SS is the best color, right Todd!

Here are my numbers:
1575906922801.png

The car had the following add-ons that were mostly thrown into the deal:
- Window tint
- Vehicle Theft Assistance (window etching)
- Door cups and edge guards (thinking of removing the door edge guards for aesthetic reasons and easier waxing - if I don't hit other cars with my doors, what's the point? open to thoughts on this)
- Crystal Fusion windshield treatment (doubt this is any better than Rain-x)
- Nitrogen filled tires (uhh ok)

The above extras totaled $1365, but they reduced it down to $140 for the VTA that they said could not be removed. I consider all of the above as not much added value except the window tint, so I was happy to pay the $140

The $639 of dealer fees included $499 as doc fee and the above mentioned $140

The $75 was for temporary 90 day registration. The car was bought out of state, so I now need to register it in CA myself.

The selling price of the car was based on the Circle A price $45061 minus $1443 of dealer discount = $43618

The dealer used the Genesis subsidized MF of .00008, so I was happy to not have to negotiate this down

Lease cash rebate was $4750 plus $1000 for competitive vehicle and $1000 end of year bonus = $6750. I purposely delayed pickup last month when this deal was negotiated as I was hoping there would be more Genesis rebate for December. Seeing the $500 rebate for Black Friday, I rolled the dice and lost when it was removed on Dec 3rd and no replacement.

Actual selling price including rebates was $43618 minus $6750 = $36868

The 700 mile drive home was wet (rained half the time) and fun! Loved getting to know the tech features of this car with lots of pleasant surprises along the way:
- rain sensing wipers work great!
- smart cruise, awesome!
- lane keeping assist worked great!
- found a boost gauge! did not know it had one
- handling? on rails!
- seats? comfy!!
- acceleration, wow!!!

Car was bought at Genesis of Peoria in AZ. They treated me right and I felt the luxury car buying experience from them! Salesman picked us up at the airport in a G80 and had papers ready to go upon our arrival. The GM popped in for a chat and welcomed us to the dealership. He gave us a couple nice gifts too, great guy! PM me if you want the name of my salesman who handled my admittedly persistent negotiation with expedience and professionalism! Can't say the same for most other dealerships I contacted.

Lastly, a special thanks to @r_spec for the Circle A certificate. As many have stated, he's been great at helping many on this forum. I would encourage others to send him a small token of appreciation for his time and efforts after receiving your cert. I truly feel his intentions are pure and he is not doing it for any kickbacks, but best to pay it forward and acknowledge his generosity.

Looks amazing! Saw my first SS in person on Saturday and it jumped onto my list of preferred colors.

Glad you had a safe trip and thanks for sharing!

And I agree with you. Anyone provided a Circle A pin should absolutely be grateful and show it!

Just wondering if you ended up giving them the cert anyway? I asked my salesman about whether Circle A is just an agreement between dealer and Genesis to sell at that price or if there's an actual check written to the dealer for the cert? The answer was that the dealer gets a check from Genesis for doing Circle A. So I would think they would have wanted your cert despite not lowering the price any further... did they take it?

No. With their dealer price reduction plus lease cash and competitor car cash I was at 20+ % less than retail and I was satisfied. I presented it and they said it would not apply since their price was lower but did they use it anyway to reduce their discounted loss? Maybe. They had already presented me their price prior to the A cert. If they used it to help themselves without pain to me, so be it.
