  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Curbed my rim

Wow. Do you have the dark sport wheels? Some here have been looking for wheel touch up paint so wondering if Genesis has some now?
I do have the sport wheels, I was planning on finding the paint code for the wheel but then realized they had already touched it up, lucky me.

Sorry haven’t been active on the forums lately I’ve been so busy, but to throw into this thread... I had curbed my rim a couple months ago and it wasn’t super noticeable but it was there, I took my car in for its oil change and tire rotation etc. and when I got it back from the dealership I noticed they had touched it up!! It now looks as if the rim was never curbed, and also I had a minor scratch on the side of a door and that had disappeared as well! Did not cost me a penny and I hadn’t even told them about either of the damages, I must say the Genesis dealer I have is amazing.
If you must say it, why not say the dealer’s name?

Any chance you could ask them about the touchup? Perhaps they have a paint pen for the wheels that we could get ahold of.

We would owe you if you asked your dealer what paint code color they used on your wheels?

I used Himalayan Grey pen stick on small scratch. About as close as you can get. My research showed that there was not a paint available from commercial website those wheels.

Himalayan Grey N5M has quite a bit more metallic in it. The wheels are almost a fine pearl metallic. Oh well worth a try. If i still lived in Vancouver my buddy Sean is a painter and could mix up a dead match. The man is a phenomenal painter.

need to put clear on but may try a tinted clear with some black to tone the metal flake down.

It's a major bummer curbing these sport rims... 😣

Maybe I’ll pull one of the rims off and hit up one of the paint suppliers here. They and mix some touch up that matches better. They us all have a huge catalog of paint chips to sample

If you are lucky (us too) your painter will find a stock color match and not have to perform a custom color match. Good paint shops can custom match about anything, but that process is more expensive and is difficult to repeat a custom match. They find a stock match maybe you can share that paint color and type with us?

The shop that did mine ultimately mixed up a custom color. Agreed that it would be much better having a legitimate stock color that we could use instead.

did the leave you with a little touch up?

Bummer. I’ve had factory wheels fixed before and I just ask them to leave off a little base coat for me for chips. They Hyper Slivers are the worst though

Anybody need some Himalayan Grey N5M touch up? $14 shipped (US)

Wanted to bump this and see if anyone has found an actual paint code yet for the sport wheels. My local rim repair shop cannot seem to match it.

I'm looking around too. I'll post here if I end up finding a good match.

Just dropped off my wheel at the repair shop. They said it will take longer than normal to fix it, as they want to get the color just right. Got to drive home using the spare for the first time.....also the first time I've had a car with a non-steel spare! Hah.

Max speed is 50mph, I felt dumb driving down the freeway back home so slowly. But, the upside was I got amazing gas mileage for the ride home. Check it out...

Haha. Turns out the AWD V6 can get really good highway mpg if you just go slow enough!
I love our spare.
