  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2020 G90 (USA)

I have read your points and agree, however, you are referring to full designs front to back with Bangle BMW and Audi and Benz and even the new GV80. That means that even if one prefers one over the other, the design/styling is intentional and cohesive throughout the entire car. What Genesis has done to the G90 is not a redesign [whole new car], it is a sylistic facelift that altered pieces of it without considering how it relates and flows with the rest of the car's design. The 19's grille is obviously a variation on Audi, the 20's grille is a variation on Acura - huh?

By contrast, since you point it out, the S Class headlights have been reworked without affecting how the cluster fits into the body 👍, same for tail lights 👍. Those are updates, not facelifts. Just look at the seam between the rear bumper and rear quarter panel in the 19 compared to the 20, can't possibly call that an improvement. Details matter, where is the guy from Bentley objecting to this stuff?

Motor Trend, if I remember correctly, was a magazine that criticized the same practice when the Genesis coupe was facelifted citing that it should have been left alone, same here in my opinion. The Genesis design team may be good, but the faclift team needs an enema.

I admit that time may allow the eyes to adapt and accept the 20, but not like it for sure. I will hold on to my 19 until a redesign and see what that looks like when my lease ends in 2022. All very subjective I agree. Like I wrote elsewhere - I like it - and - I want it - is the deciding factor for these cars. Everyone decides for themselves.

Due to the styling change to the front and rear, the 2020 G90 side profile is more like a FWD platform car. Also look from the side, the rear bumper cover is now occupying most of the rear section, and the joint gap is very noticeable too, so almost the whole rear body surface is made of plastic now. Generally speaking the facelifted G90 looks much less upscale than the previous one.

You are spot on. 👍👍

Looks like those who wanted different rims on the 2020 G90 lucked out in the US:

After seeing these wheels, I think I like the new controversial ones better on the G90...

Those are literally the same rims as the pre-refresh. You guys will always find something to cry about, eh?

Finally we have an official link...including official build...

Build it...

Looks like the 5.0 has standard items that are not available on the 3.3T...shame.

Also...no option to change the wheels on either the 3.3T or the 5.0 :(

Too many delays...Mid-east has had 2020 G90 for over 6 mos, Canada over 3 mos and US was supposed to have 2020 G90 in December, then January and now announced that Ulsan factory is shut down secondary to Corona virus in Chinese factory that supplies wiring harness. I thing that if they ever ship the 2020 G90 to US, it should be called a 2021 at this point!!! US dealers have been in the dark on arrival dates and still are.

There is a benefit though. If there are problems with startup the problems are hopefully resolved before they ship them here.

Checked February lease numbers with Edmunds today and they don't look good. At least in LA county, for 36/15 RWD 3.3 lease, MF is 0.00174, which is super high, residual 49% and around $7,250 in lease and dealer cash.
Not a good lease so far but hope those numbers improve.

I also had a pretty high MF for my lease. .00174 equals about 4.1% APR. No Bueno.

Nope, no bueno. My 2017's MF was 0.0001 or 0.00001, something like that but the residual was bad, 43% IIRC

A # of dealerships have gotten the F/L G90 (as they have been putting them up on YT).

The shutdown of the Ulsan plant is planned for only about 10 days, and wouldn't affect the the G90s in transport or already at the ports.

Ralti's Rides reviews are mostly from vehicles supplied by local dealerships (and not press fleet).

Genesis is financing the separation of brands by using the high MF. It goes right in their pocket. No bueno for cuatomers.

But what is the residual? When @leggy said his MF was 0.0001 his residual was 43%. You have to consider both plus the lease cash.

When a local dealer told me the residual depends on the monthly payments, I knew they were rigging the deal. You are right, setting the residual low and asking for money up front keeps the cash flow in high gear. But then again, if the Germans can get away with it, so can Hyundai.

Not sure I am understanding. Get away with what ?
