I compared 93 and 99 (booster)...and I squeezed out about 0.2 quicker time. Perhaps a tiny bit less.
As for RPM’s...I just meant not to be aggressive. If you over do it before the ECU learns (and the tank is fully mixed)...you have to start all over and drive slow for another 30 minutes or so. That’s why I said to be patient the first time![]()
If you're talking about while running JB4 then yeah for sure the higher octane is going to make a difference as boost and/or ignition timing is increased. In a stock car though, I think things are different.
In terms of driving it carefully, how does that apply with the ECU logic in the G70? Generally speaking, the ECU tries to run MBT (Maximum Best Torque) timing at wide open throttle, which will have much different ignition numbers vs. part throttle. In theory the only way the ECU will learn about the octane level currently in the car is to experience knock and reduce timing or it just runs MBT timing. In order to do that and affect the WOT timing values, you will have to be at full throttle.
Maybe my understanding of this ECU is wrong?
