  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Official 0-60 & 1/4 mile thread

I compared 93 and 99 (booster)...and I squeezed out about 0.2 quicker time. Perhaps a tiny bit less.

As for RPM’s...I just meant not to be aggressive. If you over do it before the ECU learns (and the tank is fully mixed)...you have to start all over and drive slow for another 30 minutes or so. That’s why I said to be patient the first time 😜

If you're talking about while running JB4 then yeah for sure the higher octane is going to make a difference as boost and/or ignition timing is increased. In a stock car though, I think things are different.

In terms of driving it carefully, how does that apply with the ECU logic in the G70? Generally speaking, the ECU tries to run MBT (Maximum Best Torque) timing at wide open throttle, which will have much different ignition numbers vs. part throttle. In theory the only way the ECU will learn about the octane level currently in the car is to experience knock and reduce timing or it just runs MBT timing. In order to do that and affect the WOT timing values, you will have to be at full throttle.

Maybe my understanding of this ECU is wrong?

If you're wrong then I'm wrong as well, as that was my understanding.

Did you ever try resetting the ECU by pulling the negative battery terminal for a few minutes?

^ honestly...I don’t know anymore...I might be getting confused as it’s been so long.

Perhaps the learning aspect is when you go up in Maps.

I might need to go back and reread what Terry and a few hardcore Stinger folks educated me on.

Heck...perhaps reread my own posts from a year ago when this was all fresh in my head.

All I remember is that the ECU learns its “environment”. :)

Aww man! I forgot to do that! May be a good thing to reset the ECU.

All good, I forget this stuff too unless it's been recent. Here is a recent post from Terry on the Stinger forums regarding the learn process.

@Terry @ BMS "Any time you make a major fuel change expect peak performance after a few full throttle runs so the ECU and JB4 can both adapt to the fuel change."

Just placed an order for a dragy. Really interested in finding out what my stock 0-60 time is.

JB4 is next on my list.
welcome to the increased addiction lol. draggy made me go out of my way almost every day to run multiple 0-60 times and ever 1/4 runs were almost twice a week haha

Any update on receiving your draggy?

Got the dragy but can't get it to connect to the phone. Downloaded app, signed up, turned on Bluetooth, pressed connect on app.. get nothing but the picture below. Am I doing something wrong?

Make sure the Dragy is all charged up first.

Ya I had the same issue. Just needed to charge it

I had 2 of them...and neither would charge to 100%. Got rid of both.

Product may be accurate...but other than that...made in China POS.

I definitely received a defective product. After charging up for 3 hours and leaving it plugged in, it still won't connect to the app. Returning it. Darn.

Dang man that’s a bummer.

By any chance did the app need an update?

Nah, just downloaded app today from the app store. Even uninstalled and reinstalled just in case. I'll order another one.
Just make the seller exchange it for a different one. And make them pay shipping for sure

Yep, got it through eBay. Free return shipping. Man, I was so excited to get home and try it out. I guess maybe next week.
