- 2G Genesis Sedan (2015-2016)
Those that say there is no cause to react to the demonstrated incompetence of the Genesis corporate web page seem to be thinking this is the first and only time they have done something embarrassing. I've seen it numerous times when I've interacted with the site over the last 1-1/2 years. It's poorly managed/implemented, and these funny figures are human caused error, not a bug. Someone typed those numbers, and no one seems to be taking care of the integrity of the web experience.
Take this all in context with the roll out of various models and features over the years, the bugs some cars contain. Genesis has proven it's got a a lot of "issues" that one might expect from a growing company trying to re-invent the segment it's trying to bust in to. It's easy to say "look the other way" if the segment is cheap commuter cars, or some under served market, this is neither. It's a tight market to bust in to, and the clientele are generally not stupid. They notice incompetence when the see it. Heck, just look at their failed attempt to make a dealership network. And it's still broken.
Right now this website of theirs is the only access we have to assess the car, so assessing it through a portal that lacks a lot of detail/clarity, and clearly has bugs in it probably isn't a good way to build interest and confidence. If they can't or won't invest in getting it right, they'd be better off not doing it, let the car speak for itself when it's ready to touch/feel/drive. If Genesis wants to tease me to build interest, don't make the joke be on Genesis.
