Why, are you over 100k miles already? If not this is covered under warranty unless you bought used and are over 60k?

I emailed my dealer to have them check into getting this potentially new part.

I really hate this car. Some days its smooth and some days its shakes. No rhyme or reason that I can find. Yesterday it was shaking really bad, today no shaking at all. This just makes it all the harder to figure out because no one will be able to replicate the issues.

Tried HMA they say that gravity just affects this car more than others and the tires will flat spot regardless of tires and this is just inherent with THIS vehicle due to the Earth's magnet pull on this specific METAL it just sucks this car harder to Earth and creates all the vibrations. Regardless that MANY OTHER cars weigh more than this one, it only occurs with this specific model. Nature is amazing. LOL What a load of bull crap.

SO THERE IS NO FIX AND THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. BUY ANOTHER CAR IF I AM NOT HAPPY was the response.

Hell no. That was my contribution to the ridiculousness of the discussion. I said the ONLY way that flat spotting the tires in inherent to the vehicle is if the vehicle is the heaviest on the planet in the sedan world. Because if not then EVERY car that is HEAVIER would ALSO have this, BMW, MB, AUDI all the FULL SIZE cars, this is MID SIZE. It's so annoying and infuriating to be told this moronic excuse I hung up on them.

Two days of horrible shaking, city and highway, followed by two days of zero shaking in the city or on the highway. Just to and from work all 4 days. Never seen anything like this.

Actually not that uncommon. If you have 2 tires out of balance or roundness, and they line up with each other you will have a bad vibration, if they are 180 out, the vibrations will cancel each other out.
A single tire will be consistent.

Gotta be something with car. I have same issue and I have brand new tires and OEM rims.

I just put on brand new tires that were road force balanced, it's not the rim and it's not the tires. Had Michelins and now a different brand. The Michelins had 6/32 on removal, so still like new more or less, they road forced those, no issues.

Today my car shook, but not as bad as Monday and Tuesday.

Does it shake while you're driving (tires, driveshaft) or is it when you're at idle? Mine has slight vibrations at idle while in D.

Running a few bottles of Techron and going full synthetic (Pennzoil Ultra Platinum) has significantly reduced the vibrations (~90%). But it's still there, especially if the AC is running.

Waiting until the weather warms up so that I can run some CRC intake valve cleaner and clean out the throttle body. I will report back once that is done.

Hmm, interesting, yes it does vibrate at idle and I noticed that before sitting at lights. Here is something else I just discovered in the last few weeks, it vibrates more if I am facing down on a larger incline. Gonna test that some more. Maybe a converter issue?

My bet is that the vibrations are most likely due to carbon buildup, given that its a direct injection engine. And the fact that they've set the idle RPM at 500 instead of 600 or higher. When it's in P, it idles really smooth at 600 RPM with no vibrations whatsoever.

I would think carbon would be a consistent problem and not intermittent, but a convertor issue would make more sense. Maybe a trans flush is something to consider. I may see if they will do that under warranty. A slipping convertor is actually a good possibility in my opinion. Would account for temp changes and also the low speed shakes as well as why it may come and go on different days.

I have at least two of these, as a matter of fact, I have mentioned it's a transmission issue several times and also a converter issue.

Y'all in 3.8s or 5.0s? My 5.0 is the second smoothest idling (and reving for that matter) engine I've ever had second only to my 2003 BMW 2.5L I6. Granted it only has 10k miles since they rebuilt it, but still...

2015 3.8 with 35K miles.

They will NOT change out the converter unless I pay for it. Adamant it's the tires.

Went with the Vredensteins. Really smooth and quiet compared to the MXM4. And my car only has 24k miles.

$700 installed and out the door.

I will put the Michelins up for sale and get some of that back.
