I just traded my 2017 BMW 540 M-Sport for a loaded RWD 3.3 Sport. I have followed Genesis since the beginning, and always thought through whether to get one or not. In 2010 I seriously thought about it them bought (leased) a Lexus GS350. Then a BMW 550, then an Audi A7, then another A7, then the 540....
Well, this time the stars aligned. I avoided any concerns of resale value, which had been a concern all along because I trade a lot. Resale didn't matter this time because I did a three year lease. Residual was 53% (10k miles) and I got a total of $7,000 discounts and got the "buy rate" on the money factor.
I'm more than just a little bit impressed with the car. I live in a mecca for sport bikes. I have three, - Sport Touring, Sport and SuoerSport. I am 68 years old, but have never gotten past step one of the 12 step program for my speed addition. I road raced motorcycles years ago, and have done some auto crossing and drag racing in cars over the years.
Where was I? Ahhh, the "mecca" for sport bikes. I have hundreds of miles of great back roads right outside my neighborhood in the hill country of Texas. I recently moved here and ride the roads on my motorcycles 3-4 times a week - or more! My second day with the G70 I took it our for a 150 mile ride on some of those incredible roads. It was during the week with very light traffic. I very quickly found myself pushing the car pretty good through all sorts of curves. I've owned quite a few sports cars, my last a 2009 Z06 Corvette. I'm not going to say the G70 handles quite that well, but then again I did not have these kinds of roads available when I owned it. I will say that I was blown away at how well the G70 handled it all.
The car is also quite comfortable, rides very well for a sport sedan. Better than my BMW mainly due to its run-flat tires, but even without the runflats, which I did for nearly three years, the BMW's suspension was not as good. Nor was the steering.
I look forward to keeping up and contributing to this forum. You can see I"m not really a new member, I signed up a few years ago when I was considering other Genesis models.
