  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis GV70 Reviews

Yes they have. I spend some time over on the BMW forum and am hearing they are cutting some options and even some parts of some options due to the china chip shortage. For example on top trim X3 the passenger seat had the lumbar feature deleted. It appears they are offering some slight discounts off MSRP on ordered 2022's but they are getting less for their money.
That's correct. As someone who is likely ordering an X3 M40i shortly, I've been spending a lot of time on their configurator. Here's what they are removing and crediting currently. As well as not offering wireless phone charging.

Are you going to order vented seats? Apparently BMW uses a totally different seat and people do not like them at all.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
In the correct thread this time!

Another Australian review - this time a comparison between the GV70 & Q5 diesel variants. Goes into the driving dynamics way more in this review which I have seen discussed here quite a lot.

Watched the "60 Minutes" tonight about the Covid/ China influenced micro-chip shortage. Eye opening to say the least. This shortage will be around for a few years according to the segment. Where is the guy in here who said it's over and it's just car salesman using it to sell cars? He sees to have gone quiet. Bottom line s if you think your going yo make a killer deal on any vehicle in demand right now it ain't happening. You're better off holding on to that 4 year old Lexus RX 350.

Also scary that 88% of our chips are coming from overseas.

Correct. We developed the technology and then they took the ball and ran with it. Now since everything we touch has a micro-chip in it we are screwed.

So, does this mean that a GV70 could be worth what we paid for it three years from now like the Telluride situation? Could be interesting if we really have years to go of the shortage.

Btw, here is another review:

No, I'm not going to order the ventilated seats as I've read the same things you have. Also, the Germans don't really do "cooled" seats, they do "ventilated" seats which basically sucks air versus blowing cold air...not so great. Also, for some odd reason, BMW uses a totally different seat design for the ventilated seats on the X3 M40i which doesn't have the same bolsters as the non-ventilated versions. Weird.

So, I'll be sacrificing butt comfort for the summer months out here in Maryland...

Painful to listen and watch this. Why are diesels so popular everywhere else but here? I don't get it. Totally irrelevant to this market. And I needed sub-titles to understand this guy. Come on Savageese !!

I'd give up smart park assist for Saudi options (jealous). Stick with this video from Riyadh thru the exterior review, it's a high 'video quality' detailing colors, interior seat (textures) & tech / display features I haven't seen before.

He deleted his account when someone asked him which tri-state area in the world he was talking about and he arrogantly reported that you should know cuz Tristate area is obvious and then got shut down by Wikipedia showing that any damn border in the US and rest of the world have "tri-state areas". I know this is off topic of this thread but that was just so dang funny!! I'm still laughing about it. Rage quit. Lol

While the info from 60 minutes is correct, that was a repeat episode from a few months ago.

Looks just like the Aussie cars?

What in particular has you so (jealous)?
It could be close to your specs. Looks like full Korean spec'd except Park Assist. Has Quilted seats in top trim, terrain modes. Can't verify which headlights but suspect Matrix. Do Aussie's get the Variable exhaust valve(s), also? I thought the guy did a good job capturing, up close, the carbon fiber details, the red on red color comparison, as well.

It has no air filtration system, and there is not variable exhaust on any GV70 models. Where did you see matrix headlights for the GV70?

I'm in Canada an have the top trim (Sport Plus). It came with quilted seats and terrain mode. It doesn't have the variable exhaust valve or mattix headlights.
