  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

GV60 Canadian Deposit - Local Dealer Information & Timelines

I have a couple of questions:

(1) Have there been any forum members who have received their GV60s from/through Genesis Waterloo (I deposited on day 1, Februry 8, and other than my test drive on May 30 I've heard nothing from them. They claimed they couldn't give me any indication of where I was on the list - just that when they had the VIN from the factory I would be notified and the car would probably be ready to be delivered about a month later. My reason for asking is that I see lots of forum members who ordered and deposited much later have already received their cars. Mine is performance/mauna red/white&grey interior.

(2) Has anyone sucessfully sourced a wireless charging pad (for the car not the phone) for installation and use at home?

Thanks
I ordered an Advanced Cardiff Green in March and originally was told June/July build. Afterwards I was told no eta until a VIN was available etc. Not great communication overall. I was told I could switch colors but I didn't to avoid any possibility of further delays.

I picked up my GV60 on July 6th from Genesis Waterloo (Performance, Red with Black interior). Looks like the car arrived in Canada on June 6th, then the dealer had it for 12 days before my actual delivery. They appear to have received another Red, Blue, and a Lime. I was told maybe 4 more this summer and another 3-4 later this year. The colour combination seemed to be one of the keys to the delivery sequence.
Thanks. I'll look for you on the roadways.

I have 245/60/18 winter tires. Does anyone know if these tires will work for GV60?
They’ll work fine. That size is just under 2% greater than stock diameter. Typically less than 3% is considered acceptable, but I prefer less than 2%.

My guy (out west) showed me the dealership list, despite being 17th on the list, my build was behind others because I ordered the copper. The list switches from “Expected” to “Order sent to factory” to “VIN issued” to “Delivered”. I’m hoping for my VIN tomorrow, then the ETA should be more accurate.

I stopped looking at the wireless charger when I saw it was $5K US.

Thanks . Yes, that price for the wireless charger will stop me, also.

As I have ordered copper too, and have had very few updates

1) It was, when it was officially posted, identified as August delivery. April/May.
2) As of the beginning of June update.
Fingers crossed for some good news tomorrow. My guy said there is an in-house meeting at the beginning of each month and the head office sends an official file status update a few days later.

Are we sure wireless charging functionality is enabled for NA?

I too am one of those left in the dark.

Inquired with Genesis about the GV60 in Oct 2021, gave deposit/personal info to the dealer in Jan 2022, pre-order went into system day 1 on Feb 8. Ordered Performance, Melbourne Grey, Black interior.

Only contact from experience manager was getting digital product sheet by email, contacted me about pre-order going in, seeing demo when it arrived. That's about it. Everytime I ask about status of delivery, they tell me there's nothing new they can tell me. I don't doubt them, as I see on here there are some in the same situation.

I sent a long detailed email to Genesis Canada regarding my experience. Got a pretty generic reply, noting difficulties in supply chain, chip shortages, and high volume of pre-orders. Nothing to address my concerns about my particular experience, order queues, or lack of transparancy in the allocations or delivery status.

For a brand that is trying to sell the "Genesis Experience", I'm not sure I have much faith in the brand.

I too am finding it disconcerting to read about so many poor experiences regarding communication from Genesis. While I get a monthly update from my dealer representative, re:build status number and how much it advances each month, it seems many others don’t even get that.

We all know about chip shortage and supply chain problems but I’d have thought Genesis would provide a more consistent and personalized response to potential customers.

I did ask my rep if the supply chain problems were causing issues on availability of parts for servicing , and if so, what sort of delays could one expect. She was unable to answer the question.

I hope Genesis monitors this blog and takes to heart the concerns listed and improve their communication going forward.

I picked up mine on July 8. Advanced, Blue outside, white interior. We now have i5 and GV60 on our driveway.
I originally chose blue but switched to the Silver. I am wondering about my decision. I haven't seen any pics of blue gv60s. Can you post a few please (especially from the side so it shows the contrast with the trim). Thanks!

This has been my experience based on very few interactions with my dealer. They told me:

If your dealer is allocated very few cars in 2022, ordering on Day 1 might not mean that much. Someone who ordered after you from a larger dealer with a greater allocation might get their car first.

Genesis can re-allocate the cars to another dealer if the car is cancelled. The dealer might be able to pass the car to someone else on their list, but Genesis Canada has to approve that (could be just a rubber stamp - I don't know).

Performance are coming faster than advanced, but I think everyone already know this.

Seems like lots of factors can impact each person's delivery.
