  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Downloaded the new software update for my 2023 GV80 via USB stick

I was unable to download 21014 version. I’ll be at dealership on Tuesday and will see if rollback is possible as they have the previous software versions.
Let us know how it goes

I am starting to think there won't be a November software update. Please tell me I'm wrong.

The mapsoft site says they will release USB drives in December. Hopefully tthis will be a new update.

Well hopefully if the December usb release is a new version it will be available for download also. I dont care to have to purchase a usb to get the release that fixes the bugs that were in the October 25 download release.

They will send it to you for free.

On the mapnsoft web site, the attached picture is the version they say they are releasing. For the 2023 genesis GV80, It is release 221014 not 221017 which is the one that is on the download site currently, that many of us have downloaded and installed, that drops the speed limit sign feature and some other features. perhaps the 221014 will fix the 2023 gv80 issues created by ver 221017.

I was unable to download the 21014 version. 21017 was loaded onto the USB stick regardless of what was entered into the software version field in the app.

It's beginning to look like the 221014 was the intended update for the 2023 GV80, but they posted the 221017 instead, which was intended for the 2021 and 2022 models of the gv80.

If you look at the downloaded file in directory "NaU\2023_GV80_USA\2023_GV80_USA.ver", the first line contains:
"+|22Q2|JX1.USA.P6.001.005.221014|GN|2023_GV80_USA|1512|1"
yet the downloaded files install ver 221017, not 221014.

It is my understanding that December is when the USB Stick with the Oct Software Update will be available to order. It was supposed to have been ready for order this month, but was delayed until December.

I believe the next actual Software Update will not be released until around April 223.

I have lost track. Is it only the 2023 Gv80s affected or are 2022 Gv80s affected as well?

Well, I have a 21, so I guess it is ok to install the new maps I got a few weeks ago.

I think both 21 and 22 with HDA2 (which is what i have) are pretty much identical.

So is it that the recent update has affected the HUD of the non-HDA2 2022 Gv80 in addition to the 2023 Gv80? Unfortunate that no one at mapnsoft is able to enlighten us!

Yes. Not sure about the 2022s without HDA 2. I do know that it seems to not affect the 2021s.

I meant, my 22 with HDA2 effected as well.

There goes my theory, if 2022 with HDA2 is also affected.

Speaking of clusters, while checking to see if my HUD is also missing the speed limit indicator after the update (Canadian model), I also realized that the GV80 doesn't have the tile that shows how much power is going to each wheel in the instrument cluster. Maybe it never had it, but it's definitely on our GV70s. Does anyone know if the GV80 ever had this?

The center display as shown in your photo above is for the tire pressure monitoring system. The individual tire pressure value should show up in the display once you start driving.

I don’t think the GV80 has ever had a display showing the power going to each wheel.

This you tube video appears to show the electronic limited slip differential in action as displayed on the info screen. See frames at 11:49.

CEM, nice find, did you notify mapnsoft ?

They should have picked this up in all the data/screenshots we have sent them, but then again, why would they admit such a mistake. If the solution is a simple download substitution with 221014, their silence could mean that it's more than a simple substitution.
