I sent the above quote (CEM quote) to mapnsoft, and below is their reply:
(BTW, their reply indicates they are working on the HUD speed limit sign issue. In an earlier post (quote above from blschaefer1), mapnsoft reported that mapnsoft could not help with a HUD issue.) This company is clearly lost on customer service.

This is an issue currently being worked on by the developers of the HUD system. We've no idea why the speed limit sign appears on reboot or why it disappears after the reboots completed. The information we have on hand is the issues mentioned by you are being investigated and fixed by the developers of the heads up display for your vehicle.
