  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Here is a video of my MagnaFlow mufflers and exhaust tips after install

Those are some incredible tips! Have to look at the video again and then the pictures to see - definitely an improved look!!!

1954 Ford Crestliner convertible. I was just cruising and not accelerating. They has a task force out and I just happened to be the next guy to be pulled over. They were really mellow and only 'popped' if you did rev her up. A truck went by much louder then either of our vehicles and I shouted "Go get HIM". The cop then checked the entire interior of the car (clean). When ready to leave, I asked if he wasn't going to check the trunk. The look he gave me told me I had better keep quiet. But he did put out his hand for my keys and checked out the trunk ...clean also. That ticket cost a whopping six bucks but it hurts to this day.

That my friend, was an amusing story. I can see why it would still bother you..

I finally got my new tips put on that I puchased from Motorsportsauthority, and I think they are a HUGE inprovement over the MagnaFlow tips I had put on a year ago.

Scott, I can't find those tips anywhere! Do you have a link?

TIA

I don't have a link, but if you go back to page 4 on this thread, you can click on motorsportsauthority's post/reply and send him a personal message, which is what I did. It was an easy process this way, and he seems to reply in a timely manner.

I'll sell you my MagnaFlows!!??:D

Man...I have got to get those on the website. Been soooo incredibly busy lately. Not just work, but the last 3 weekends have been one car show after another.

Scott, your car sounds awesome! I was just praising brady for his Bora exhaust and then heard yours. Also AWESOME!

I'm split now, don't know if I want to go with magnaflow or bora.

Again, just awesome awesome awesome sounding and looking car.

Thanks for the compliment:cool: As I've mentioned before, I was a hard core Borla fan for the last decade, but I did some more research and listening to different exhausts, and the Magnaflow was the one for me. Plus I lost respect for Borla's overpricing. I don't need a car $30,000 more then the Genesis to offer the same qualities. Same with exhaust. I did not go with the cat-back however. IMO, waste of money unless you have custom headers made for the car and reprogram the ECU. I've been told this by multiple mechanics/exhaust shops.

Whatever you decide will be a good exhaust:D

Yes I agree. I learned lots of information about it. Yes you could repeat in viewing the video. I think I could also do that. :grouphug:

ok...I just asked performancepeddler.com for a quote and it is $532.65 with free shipping!

HOLY CRAP! Borla's system msrp's at $1299!

I'm sold. I just sent them a reply asking if it is in stock and ready to ship. I will not hit the purchase button until I know the product is in their hands.

Is it HOT in here??? HA!

Sorry if you were mis-led Mr. Dump! HA! :p (I couldnt resist; please forgive)

No, my Genny is still stock. I have yet to make a move. Borla is offering their cat-back for $1299 msrp, which is WAY more than I will ever spend on exhaust.

I love the Magnaflows too! I had considered doing my own install with two universal Mag's and their X-pipe. However, with labor and shop supplies, it would put me about $100 shy of the Magnaflow Cat-back system that is offered for $532.65. I'm thinking I will go ahead with the cat-back system for $100 more and then just bolt all of it on myself.

I was just excited to see it offered that cheap!!;)

I hear ya....speaking of HOT, my digital thermometer outside in the shade is reading a little under 100 degrees today and super high humidity. I got to use the AC in the Genny again and im still super impressed with how fast it blows cold air and maintains temp.

I know I've stated in other posts that Cat Back exhaust aren't going to give power gains without ECU repromming etc. and etc., but I would buy the MagnaFlows kit in a secons considering I paid $350 for the two mufflers and tips AND installation.

I would have just forked out the extra $200 bones and got the entire kit and put it on myself as well. NO WELDING for a cat back system, which makes things pretty easy.

will this fit on my 3.8 v6??

I don't even know how many mufflers your car has, 1 or 2. If you look back a few pages or so, you'll see the link for the catback for both v8 and v6. If I remember correctly the V8 is the only one to have dual exhaust, so two mufflers.

You may only need one.

Interior video

Scott, any way you can post a video of how the car sounds from the inside/cabin?

Why are the tips so big? look's horrible to me.
I thought maganflow exhaust system came with the tips seen on the PING video by scott
I'm looking into buying a magnaflow for my v8 sedan but need to know that Scott had the right tips and these do not come with the cat back system

So which exhaust has less drone? Mag Cat-back, Mag muffler + tips, Mag muffler + tip + x-pipe?
