I purchased my Genesis new, and at 72,900 mls oil
dipstick tip was broken, the dealer advised new one, and tip could be floating in oil pan, 72,950mls the oil light comes on at idle, had it checked by the dealer and they confirmed it was the sensor, oil pressure was okay no codes could be found when they scanned the computer, also it's not covered under the 100,000/10yr warranty. the only parts covered are internal engine parts, Valves, bearings, etc, and no part that is fitted to the engine. (Dealer advised)
The warranty is worthless,
The dealer quoted me $175 for the part and $600 for fitting, so I'm assuming a 3 or 4-hour job, which i will now undertake myself.
Only last week we were looking at replacing the 6-year-old g80 with a new one, the only reason we didn't bite the bullitt then was we were undecided between the G70 and GV70.
The Dealer is now offering a 200,000/20yr warranty but it's still worthless, you're on your own after the 5yr/60,000, that piece of mind you though you had goes out the window.
So the sales blah of 10yr/100,000mls is worthless.
Once I've fixed this sensor issue i will be going to talk with a different manufacturer..
