If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Free NACS Adapter Thread: Post Your Updates

The Genesis USA youtube channel has posted some videos, and one shows the Genesis smartphone app being used to find Tesla superchargers, and also used to initiate charging sessions at Tesla superchargers.

I didn't see the ability in the Genesis app to search for Tesla superchargers (see video starting around 40 seconds). The only Networks I can see on the app at Chargepoint, EVgo, Electrify America, Blink, Greenlots, SemaConnect. I confirmed I'm using the newest iOS version of the Genesis app (version 3.2.2 Prod). I've also successfully enrolled in Genesis Pay.

Just wondering if anyone else has the functionality in their Genesis app as shown in the video?

Communication feels like an afterthought. I wonder if it is better in the South Korean market or if Genesis is just bad at it wherever.

Also, I find it amusing in the video that they say the Tesla cables may not reach if your vehicle is parked improperly as if it is our fault that the spaces don't line up.

They didn't have the fortitude to say you will have to block two stalls to park at a station but instead equate blocking two stalls as "properly parking."

Pretty sure every other Tesla driver is going to view you as the *sshole but thanks Genesis...

It doesn't matter what they think, Tesla advises people in their own app to block two stalls when charging a non-Tesla EV. You won't be the first person, the last person, or likely the only person doing it at the station.

Regarding the video, autocharge via Genesis Pay is the one thing that would actually motivate me to set it up, should they make it available in Canada. I hate fumbling with charging apps and payment screens, they're so much more miserable than a gas pump.

I'm responding to the impetus on the owner to park "correctly" vs Genesis admitting the situation blatantly calls for blocking two stalls because this was never implemented correctly by Tesla.

I don't care what is shown in the app or on some reference page from Tesla in terms of parking. There is theory and there is practice. When you show up in your non-Tesla vehicle and block two spots your run the risk of an uninformed Tesla driver being irate if they can't charge (frankly I don't blame them). Look around on forums from other OEMs who have access to the SCN and you will see stories of people getting into altercations or even having the police called on them because they are trying to charge at a Tesla station in a non Tesla.

Most Tesla drivers aren't reading forums or updated parking guidelines buried in some update. They are accustomed to going to a station, charging without incident and leaving. This implementation, where some cars can't reach because of charger port placement and short Tesla cables, always was going to invite some amount of conflict and chaos. Given EM's MO, that seems par for the course.

The functionality to search for charging stations exists, the ability to filter on the charger connection does not. Also, when searching networks there are only a few available, Tesla is not one of the available networks. Here are ones ones available for me: Chargepoint, EVgo, Electrify America, Blink, Greenlots, and SemaConnect.
Interesting, they reference needing to have a payment method registered with Genesis Pay. I wonder why that would be, since really you're setting this up with the Tesla mobile app... Starting, payment, etc.

Yeah, my app has none of this.

The only advantage I see to this is it reduces the number of apps we'll need on our phones. Still have to use an app to start charging. I'm good with keeping Tesla, EA, EVGO, and Chargepoint on my phone until we get true plug and charge.

My app doesn't show Tesla either. I am on 3.2.2

Its been a week since they indicated it had shipped, but the tracking number they provided says "Label Created Not yet In System".

This is not uncommon with high-volume shippers from Asia. They pack and label the units in the originating country, which gets a tracking number assigned. Then all of the packages in bulk are brought to the US and tendered to the carrier, who will then show them in their system.

Guess you were right. As of this morning it shows as being in the Chicago USPS shipping center. Expected delivery this Thursday.
