  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anybody buy new 18" tires for their Genesis Sedan yet?

I've heard that the 2012 Genesis comes with Michelin tires and an improved ride. If anyone comes across the exact specs of the new tires being put on the upgraded 18-inch wheels, please post them...thanks!
This has been posted by someone already, but you will have to search for it. I believe that the V6 base model still has 17" Dunlops, and the R-Spec has different Michelins than the other 18" tires (as posted already).

I bought OEM size Sumitomo HTR ZIII's and I love them.

Plus 1!

I went for ride and quiet. After a few attempts, I chose the Bridgestone Turanza with the 'Serenity' technology for the quietest tire hands down.
I had them on the 2010 4.6 and put them on my 2012 5.0. I chose to NOT get the R/Spec... that has the 19 inch 'low profile' tire...(rough ride) and I didn't want to spend an extra $1,000 for the 1/4 inch thicker sway bar, and change out the rims to 18 inch. I'm having a little engine 'tappet' noise issue, and the dealer says mine is THE QUIETEST GENESIS he's driven! Too bad I still have the tappet noise.

Has anyone put on Nitto 18" tires on the 4.6L V8?

Yes. Dealer installed these new set of tires on the 2011 I just purchased from them. I like them just fine but have only put about 500 miles on them. I researched the Nitto tires and they are 60K mi tires.

The Mechanic told me the Kuhmo tires match very well on these models but I am satisfied with the Nitto's so far

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
The time has come to replace the dudflops on my Genesis 4.6. I had narrowed my choices to Michelin AS3, MXM4, Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus, and Cooper Zeon RS3A. Finally decided on the AS3 because of good reviews and Consumer Report rating but am waiting for a "rebate deal" to surface. Now I see that Michelin is introducing a new tire in April - Premier A/S
Luxury Performance Touring that might be more suited to my needs. I've checked their website but it seems they will not be making it in the 235/50 R18 size. Anyone know why? Seems that Genesis owners would be perfect customers for these.

Also relooking at the MXM4 Primacy again! Darn internet - too much information. Wish Michelin would hurry with a rebate deal! BTW, getting a very good deal on the AS3 from local Firestone dealer.

not to be a shill, but ...

Conti Pure Contact w/ Eco-Plus ... $159 per at Tirerack (plus shipping). Not a hardcore performance tire, but good grip, good lateral handling, and quiet.

Have ~2k miles on a set right now - very happy with the purchase.

After the original Dunlaps got too loud at 35K on my 010 sedan, I ended up with a set of Conti Pure Contact. I now have over 12K, and they're still quiet and just now starting to show wear on the tread gauge. They also ride and handle very well.

Seems like almost every tire gets noisy in the last 1/2 to 1/3 of the tread life. Dunno why it's like that, but, everybody seems happy with the quietness of their "new" tires, but, 15-20k miles later, not so much.
