  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2012 Genesis sedan - If you want to unlock all 4 doors at the same time with the remote then all you need to do is hold the lock and unlock buttons down on the remote until the yellow parking lights flash 4 times. Then you can use your remote fob to lock and unlock all 4 doors. Repeat this step to return the fob to lock and unlock the drivers door only.

On the Equus all you have to do is put your hand between the door and handle. To lock all 4, just push the button on the door. Fob never comes out of the pocket.

Yep...works! Very nice thanks for sharing. Now if there is a way to leave Auto Hold on by default I will be even more happy!

my key fob never leaves my pocket either.
the only difference compared to the equus is that i have to push the button on the door handle to unlock.

Re: Secrets from the Hyundai Service Department

I think you are missing the key point here. When you press the door button it only unlocks that door. When you reprogram the fob as instructed - when you press the button on the handle , now all 4 doors are unlocked

Re: Secrets from the Hyundai Service Department

I understand that we are discussing how to program the the key fob but as with many, I tend not to ever take the key fob out of my pocket and since, on my 2009 Genesis 3.8 tech one push of the button on the driver"s side door unlocks only that door, two pushes unlocks all four doors. One push of the button on the passengers door opens all for doors. I'm virtually certain that the same is true with the button on the key fob on my car.

Re: Secrets from the Hyundai Service Department

Forget the fob... leave it in your pocket. After you reprogram the car/fob, when you press the button on the door, all four doors unlock. You don't have to press the button twice anymore.

Re: Secrets from the Hyundai Service Department

Well, I have a 2009 V8 Tech and it doesn't work for me.
I tried with both key fobs to no success.

My fingers are now out of commission for a couple of days for holding the buttons down forever.:(

Ditto. I have a Prem. & Tech with a March 09 production date. Doesn't work for me either.

Maybe I am wrong, but I thought there is a procedure to do it on 2009 models (different procedure than 2012) that the dealer should know how to do.

Re: Secrets from the Hyundai Service Department

I use the fob because I LOVE when I double-click the lock button, the side mirrors turn in. In my work parking lot, that is invaluable.

Not sure why not - I know they come with at least the tech, maybe the premium too?

All but the 2012 base V6 models have them.

I have the 2012 3.8 Premium. The power folding mirrors are a godsend.

2012 4.6....power folding mirrors. I just discovered that the two button press folds the mirrors - very convenient

Re: Secrets from the Hyundai Service Department

Thanks for this tip. I have a 2011 4.6, and it worked for me. (The door unlocking part, not the mirrors)

Re: Secrets from the Hyundai Service Department

have to double press the fob in quick succession to auto fold the mirrors. Same to unfold them when approaching the vehicle, two quick presses
