I think some of you are talking about the range when pushing a button on the fob. I think that the problem range (range where the car and the fob see each other without pressing a button on the fob), is probably 2 meters or less.
Mr. Incredible, the Bluetooth issue is significant, just didn't think it applied to the OP, not me either. But it's great to know. It could affect my wife because she keeps keys and phone in the same purse, but then again she doesn't drive my car. I keep phone in right pocket and keys in left pocket.
The OP also could have simply had old batteries to start with.
agree button range and proximity range are two entirely different things
Proximity range is aboit 3 feet as I stated earlier, and only from the sides of the car, not the front or rear.
easy to measure, as you approach the car the auto mirrors unfold. That is your distance marker.
standing behind does not unfold the mirrors as the touch free trunk feature antenna, if equipped is back there so it takes priority. Standing in front of the car does nothing.
i can stand directly In front of my G80 with my hands in the hood and the Car will not respond to either credit card key nor fob.
from the sides I measured it at 37” from the door handle to my pocket where the car responds, and I can literally take a step back and the mirrors will fold up.
3 feet is the limit IMO.
Additionally per the picture posted of the car in the garage. There would be no response to the proximity sensors as it is too far away and at the front of the vehicle.
IMO the battery drain issue most experience is because they have the fob and their cell phones too close together throughout the day.
again as stated and seemingly glossed over by most, it is a known issue by most manufacturers that Bluetooth 4 and 5 interferes with the the vehicle proximity key fobs because they operate on very close frequencies.
Did they confirm they have the fuel rail recall parts ON HAND?I’ve dropped mines off on Friday for both the sunroof and fuel pipe recalls. Plus some additional regular maintenance. Managed to get a GV80 Coupe as a loaner and I LOVE IT
To be honest with you! I’d forgot to ask and plus once they brought the Coupe out to me, I was happy with that.Did they confirm they have the fuel rail recall parts ON HAND?

Sounds like a lot of over-reaction here. The following is an excerpt from Genesis Canada's letter to owners. Hopefully this will reassure some of the more hysterical posters:They better get moving or there could be thousands of burned up GV80’s littered across the world...![]()
Have you actually contacted your (or any) dealer about this? Do you actually know of anyone who has had their unit "retightened"? People are obviously and justifiably concerned, but I have not personally seen any "hysteria".Sounds like a lot of over-reaction here. Precautions:
No precautionary measures are to be taken at this moment; however, if you
experience any issues with your vehicle, please contact your distributor
immediately.
WHAT WILL GENESIS DO?
Your Genesis distributor will retighten the crossover fuel pipe and, if
necessary, the pipe assembly will be replaced based on inspection results.
These repairs will be performed at NO CHARGE to you.

Thanks for the update. Either your dealer has a lot of loaners, few recalls, is unusually generous, or knows/trusts they will have a quickish resolution to the issue--or some combination of those.I’m sorry for the delay in responding. As of today there isn’t any time given for a fix for the recall. I was told that Genesis would be sending out another letter informing owners of a fix for the issue and to schedule an appointment with your nearest dealership. I had to bring the Coupe back and they have me a 2026 GV70 3.5T

I’m in Pennsylvania and the dealership is Genesis of West Chester Pa.Thanks for the update. Either your dealer has a lot of loaners, few recalls, is unusually generous, or knows/trusts they will have a quickish resolution to the issue--or some combination of those.
I can't imagine they will let you keep a brand new car indefinitely.
Which dealer/where is it?
Sure, but that doesn't explain the situation here in Canada. Unless that's strictly due to low sales here. I've had mine 2 years now and have seen only one other GV60 around here. The tariff situation in the US threw a major wrench into the product planning works at many manufacturers.
Given the typical multi-year development timeframe for most new cars, it’s a terrible time to be an automaker selling cars not built in the US, like the GV60.
Not just you, I was visiting the mothership (Korea) a couple of months ago. I saw tons of Genesis vehicles, lots of Ioniq 5s and exactly one GV60 during my 2 week stay in Seoul. I saw more new Ferraris than GV60s,lol.Sure, but that doesn't explain the situation here in Canada. Unless that's strictly due to low sales here. Ultimate range is much more of a “thing” for non-EV owners than it is for most actual EV owners, IMO. If you can charge at home, unless you drive more than 200 miles a day, range rarely actually matters. Not just you, I was visiting the mothership (Korea) a couple of months ago. I saw the car and driver article estimating 220 miles of range, man that is kind of sad given competitive vehicles with similar performance and specs have EPA ratings above 300 miles. I could be wrong but these are still EVs and range is still kind of a thing.
200 miles is great in the summer but as I am sure you already know it's as little as 60% of that range during cold winter day. So it's a thing for some of us.Ultimate range is much more of a “thing” for non-EV owners than it is for most actual EV owners, IMO. If you can charge at home, unless you drive more than 200 miles a day, range rarely actually matters.
The other thing is that the EGMP platform’s DCFC speed is so fast that a longer road trip often won’t take any longer in one than in an EV with longer range but slower charging…

It looks clean to me! ...and that's what counts.I went through the touchless car wash today. I had to, it was bothering me something fierce. lol
It's been about a month since it's last wash, plus we had snow, salt and chemicals on the roads. It's not the best wash, but it does what it has to do.

That's a heck of a feeling, huh? No more payments... But yeah - I know what you mean. The GV70 is quite nice. And kind of a naturally progression from the G70. But it all depends on (I think) if you prefer the lower seating position to the higher one. And then there's the versatility of the hatch... What are ya gonna do?I forgot to post this last week, but I sent in a HUGE check for the payoff on my '23 G70 Sport Prestige. Very happy with the car. Just got my last free oil change. Lease ends on July 3rd, 2026.
I wouldn't mind a beautiful GV70 though.

As with anything else in life, to each their own. The biggest negative and deal breaker for me is what it did to the flow of the interior. For example, instead of the vents being hidden in the metal trim, they're now dropped down to the oval, which drops buttons onto the center console. The problem, for me, isn't function. It's aesthetics.I’m going to have to respectfully disagree with you guys here. I felt exactly the same way until I actually lived with the new 27" setup in person.
The screen doesn't feel like an "iPad slapped on the dash" at all because it’s one seamless piece of curved glass - there’s no ugly black plastic seam dividing the cluster from the map. The OLED resolution is incredibly crisp, and the way the navigation stretches across the panoramic display looks amazing at night.
As far as glare goes, the anti-reflective coating is excellent. Plus, since you still have the physical click wheel on the console and dedicated buttons for the climate control, you rarely ever have to reach out and smudge the glass anyway.
Don't let the photos fool you. It completely modernizes the cabin and, honestly, makes the pre-refresh interiors look ten years old right away.

Thank you! I got my Genesis Sedan in May 2020 and it replaced a 2001 Mazda Millenia 4 dr sedan Snow White/champagne two tone that I drove for 17+ years and never had any main issues. The only thing I miss about my Mazda is the air conditioner-I am currently having to replace the AC compressor on my Genesis, but other than that I love everything about my Hyundai.Welcome aboard, Stefanie! Well nice upgrade! Not many are aware of just how nice the Mazda Millenia was, though. It was a really nice, reasonably priced luxury sedan for its time...Thank you! Which model, trim and color did you get?
Hi there. If this is your account: https://genesisowners.com/genesis-forum/members/stefaniesgen.67102/I have a silver 2013 Genesis sedan 3.8L

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your brand new Genesis GV70! What did the GV70 replace for you? I'm glad you found us.Good afternoon! Just purchased a 2026 Genesis GV70. My first Genesis, hopefully it will be a good experience!![]()
The UX is a nice car - but the GV70 - that's a big upgrade. Congratulations! Lexus does have a great reputation for reliability - though I've found they're always quite late to the game when it comes to technology. Probably one of the reasons their vehicles has so few issues. They want until every other brand has worked out the bugs...We replaced a 2019 Lexus UX 200! We bought it new, and was a terrific no problem car!. Hoping we get a similar experience with the Genesis!![]()

I read that the new version sources from Google in real time.As the subject says - getting attached messages after manually updating (May maps/update) the car. I let the Maps/MM OTA expire, b/c I don't mind doing this manually and I see little value in paying for it - but NOW, with this latest update, it seems to indicate that it uses online only and falls back to off-line maps only for connectivity issues... and even though (I checked) the Map OTA subscription doesn't say anything about this feature, I'm wondering - anyone else see these msgs? Or, am I the only one who let the Maps OTA subscription lapse? I _did_ dbl-check with the USB, says it's the same version as to what I have.

Right - that is why I'm suspecting the map OTA subscription right now be a requirement, but so far customer support says noI read that the new version sources from Google in real time.
Oh, man, it sounds like the Coach Doors might be gone... An executive reshuffle, huh? That sounds scary... What the heck is going on, I wonder...Exclusive: Genesis GV90 Delayed Again as Executive Reshuffle and Level 3 Autonomy Uncertainty Loom

Wow, that is a beauty!Genesis has a new 2027 model designed to compete with the Tesla Cybertruck. They refined the overall design but maintain the proper overall shape/image.

Price has not been announced but they say some are willing to pay a premium considering the fine finish compared to the plain steel Tesla.Wow, that is a beauty! How much do you think it'll cost?
