  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I bought my 2011 4.6 Genesis about one month ago and last week cleaning the 18" wheels/rims I noticed there were black spots and they seem to be under the clear coat and not like road grim or oil spots.

I have contacted Hyundai's website/Customer Service to see if anyone has had this same problem. The Dealership says I need to get the District Sales (or Parts) Manager for my area and bring the car back to the dealership so he/she can look at the wheel.

I tried looking on this forum for black spots for wheel problems, to no avail.

Don't use strong wheel cleaners. Simple car wash soap will do and not damage the finish. Some auto car washes use very strong wheel cleaners that can damage finish on some wheels. My wheels on my GMC Suburban were streaked up by a car wash and have not been the same since. From what you have explained it is likely covered by warranty.
