  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2012 genesis sedan - price paid

For a base 3.8 with wheel locks and I-pod cable, in Illinois, $31,394 + Tax, Title, license, DOC, = $33,474 out the door.

The price was about $39,600 (shipping included) minus the $1500 rebate=$38,100.

Additional costs paid beyond the $38,100 were $175 fee for rebadging, a $55 document fee, California sales tax, and California license fees.

Just Pulled the trigger on a 3.8 Platinum tech package $39,667 out the door.

I think month end closing in on year helped me, below is the breakdown:

Genesis Tech includes destination & all fees $37,569.25 + sales tax 1,878.46 + plate fees $150 + title $70 = 39,667

Special thanks to LA Genesis for his help!:D

Paid $49,158 for a 4.6 before T/L and with the $1,500 incentive in San Diego. Didn't see a incentive for the 5.0 but there is for the R-Spec. In fact, with the incentive the R-Spec is $ 1,870 cheaper than the 5.0. A 5.0 would be nice in white, but not at the price they are asking now.

Interesting in that the MSRP for a R Spec is less than what you paid for a 4.6. Did you look around? They had an black R Spec up in Escondido for 49K with extras. Plus the 1500 incentive is alos for teh R Spec as I got it on mine just a few weeks ago up in Ventura area.

just got a 3.8L for a great price. if anyone in MD/VA needs a new hyundai, i know a great salesman at fitzgerald hyundai in gaithersburg. i emailed/called almost every hyundai dealer in MD/VA and he had the best price + service, no games.

@geetee - yep, gotta love FitzMall if you live in the DC Metro area. Thing I liked most was a fair internet price, little to no haggling (only over trade-in value), and no high pressure sales techniques. Genesis sells itself anyways.

What did you end up getting and what did you pay for it, if you don't mind posting it?

I ended up getting the best price at College Park Hyundai, so go figure!

Crusty, sorry I meant the new 5.0 not the R-spec. The new 5.0 didn't have any incentive, not sure if it does now.

Just bought a beautiful Platinum R-spec at Allen Hyundai in Laguna Niguel, CA. I dealt with Cameron Allen in the internet department and Blair Morrison was my Sales Consultant. Great guys, and a great deal--$41,000 including the $1500 rebate.

2012 Rspec best price is $41,200 B4 TTL?

Local dealer advertising Platinum Silver Rspec for $41,500 with 20 miles. Says its a fire sale to move inventory before Jan 3rd trying to get their sales numbers up.

Is this a: STEAL, GOOD, or AVERAGE deal? Loooks like on this thread I have seen $41,200 consistently.

My trade is a 2011 4.6 tech with 33,800 miles. Have Loved it, but trying to get out of my high mileage before I put on more. They offered $26,000 for mine. I owe $28,800. I will keep my cargo and IPod cable to be sure.

Thanks for help.

Purchased a 2012 white 4.6 with cargo tray and ipod cable yesterday for $38,961 + TTL (sales price of 40,461 less 1,500 competitive incentive). I purchased the car at Pohanka Hyundai in Marlow Heights, MD, just south of Washington DC.

This was a nice surprise since we had a deal at the overstock.com buying service price of $39,108.

I have a 2009 4 cyl camry that i use as my winter car and it costs me about $489 / year to insure it; I was shocked at how much the Genesis costs to insure: $736 / year; I told my Allstate rep that I wasn't going to race it, but that didn't change the price... ;-)

hmm, i don't understand the logic of trading a car that you love for something that's very similar, at a much higher price.

Just purchased 2012 Genesis Sedan 4.6 Model from Capitol Hyundai.

End of the year Deal!

MSRP $45,535.00
OTD Price $41,500.00 (Includes all fees and taxes)
Interest Rate 1.54% for 60 Month.

I think I got good deal.
So, I added $1000 for 5 year full service plan (Oil change, Rotation, and Major Services), and $995 for 10 year Extended warranty on all features.

I know spending extra money for extended warranty or service plan doesn't looks so worth. However, I saved some money from good deal. So, I just use that saving on additional items.

Also, free ipod cable, cargo mat, and wheel locks!

On 12/9/11 we purchased a 2012 Genesis 5.0 R-spec: MSRP 47,435.00. Paid 40,720 (w/ 1500.00 rebate). OTD in so. cal. 44,800.00. GREAT CAR!!

Just took delivery on a 3.8L on 12/31/11. Monroney list price was $44,035 which covered the 3.8L + Premium + Tech packages, also came with rear cargo tray, ipod cable, and wheel locks. During negotiations, I got the following added: rebadging (decided I only wanted the rear changed out but they were willing to add the front if I wanted), emergency roadside kit, and cargo net (maybe they all come with this, I'm not sure!). The SALES price on the vehicle was $38,900. NC tax/title/tag/doc fees added in $1790. I qualified for a $2K rebate (competitive discount + military discount) which brought the total back to $38,690 OTD.

I went ahead w/ the pre-paid service plan for the first 5 years ($645) and I also bought the VSC from Advantage for $960. I'm still questioning the VSC purchase. My wife liked the idea, but everything I hear about them is that they aren't worth the $$. Still - I just had about $2500 in repairs done to my 2005 Volvo this year and the Genesis has WAY more technology on it than the Volvo. It just seems like something is gonna break sooner rather than later. I am thinking that 1 non-warranty repair would cover the cost of the plan. I guess I will find out!

Anyway, I thought the deal was pretty good overall. Car is Black Noir / Cashmere. Drove it a bit today and really enjoyed it!
