  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2012 genesis sedan - price paid

In November, I was quoted <$30K for a base. Start the negotiation at $29,500 with a few years of oil changes and let them go from there. Always be prepared to walk away. They are always looking for a sale. I should have been more cutthroat when I negotiated my 3.8 for $34,000.

First time buyer - looking at a 2012 Hyundai Genesis 3.8 base, in California.

Got the dealer down to 30.3k, factoring in the 1500 rebate. Trying to squeeze him for another 500 more.

30.3k - good deal?

If not, what can I do to get it sweetened?

Leased a 2012 4.6 Titanium Grey/ Black. Dealer also got me out of my Acura lease 3 mos early, by purchasing my car. My buyout on acura was $24,700, dealer gave me $24,000. Cap Cost on Genesis was 39,300. I wrote a check for $1500.00 to cover inceptions and probably to coer the remaining balance of my Acura. Ended up paying $584+ Tax, 36 mos/ 15k miles/ year. Felt the deal was good for me.

Ended up pulling the trigger at 30k, for a base 3.8l with free rebadging and a few oil changes thrown in.

I feel like I could of done better, but timing dictated I move forward (I needed a car soon).

Similar story..Got out of a leased 09' Nissan Maxima SV with 8 Payments remaining..Purchase Price 37,574 - $2100 negative equity rolled into the Genesis, $1900 down payment, and paying $594/month on 36/months/15K miles/year..Drove over 800+ miles to P/U vehicle - local Hyundai dealer was 4grand over purchase price

Thats's a great price. I paid $38,600 for the same exact options minus the cargo tray.

That's the value of buying on the last day of the month. And after I accepted the 37.9 offer I got an offer of 37000 (-900) from another dealer when I responded to his email and told him I was buying elsewhere.

Last week I got a 2012 3.8 with Premium package, cargo tray and ipod cable.

Price paid was $34,500 including rebates ($1,500 competitive and $500 Hyundai Finance).

Wow, many of you got great deals.

2012 Genesis 3.8L Gray Sedan with Tech, Ipod cable, cargo matt.
MSRP $44,100
PAID $38,600

I just bought a V6 with comfort & Tech packages and a couple of dealer options. White with cashmere. I gave 39500. I didn't qubble over the price because I have bought chevs and toyotas from the same dealer for a number of years and his service is impeckable. He also contributes a lot to the community.

I went to a volume dealer in NJ, and also chose to go on the 31st of Jan (Last day of the month). Was able to really get them to move on the price because they wanted another car off the lot. I was at the dealership till 1am taking delivery. Hehe! Paid $36,500, for premium and tech V6.

Purchased 4-23-2012

Genesis 5.0 (not the R-Spec)

$39K

(got financing discount $500 and competitive car $1500)

I don't have the keys yet but I just made a deal with Shawnee Mission Hyundai for a 2012 black 5.0 rspec. I live 200 miles from them so will get it this weekend. I bought my current 4.6 from the same dealer and they seem to be real good. Ive dealt with Steve there and he bends over backwards to close the deal. GOOD GUY!! I'm trading my 2011 4.6 Genesis and giving them $11K. My car has 16K miles. I think that's a pretty good deal. I'll post later on how my new hot rod performs.

Been negotiating on an R-Spec $47475 MSRP

2012 R-Spec with Cargo Tray
$42340
-1500 Competitive Rebate
-500 Finance Rebate
-500 Motozuma Promotion

$39840 including Full Window Tint and Oil Changes as long as I own the car
Not including tag/tax.

Seems to be in line with most other purchasers. Any opinions?

My dad wanted a luxury car so I negotiated for a 2012 black/black 3.8 V6 base sedan for him. I emailed around, gathered quotes, and used one against the other as leverage. Drove in and checked out Elgin Hyundai in Illinois Monday night, the last day of the month.

After checking out the car and 2 hours of negotiating, we agreed to

$28,900 (not including tax/title/license fees)

Destination fee and rebates ($1,500 compet. and $500 Hyundai financing) included.

Strangely enough, they claimed the specific model we were purchasing didn't come with floor mats even though it states on the website as "standard." We eventually got them to relent. Which luxury car doesnt include regular floor mats?

0.9% for 36 months with 15k down. We're thrilled. It's a beautiful car.
