2015 Back-up light question

I just noticed something odd about the back-up lights on the 2015 Genesis. My wife was backing into the garage and only the LEDs on the trunk lid come on when in reverse and they don't really put out that much light. Assuming that that's how they're supposed to work, does anyone have any idea how to include the outer LEDs as BU lights? I wouldn't mind a little extra light back there when backing in to a dark garage. :) TIA.
