2015 Genesis GPS Map Update V9?

Went to my dealer a second time today to get the latest GPS Map update to version 9.

I have a 2015 Hyundai Genesis Ultimate Package with Jog/Dial.

My current version shows NAM 07.47.65.001.002

The MapNSoft website shows version 9 to be 08.41.52.591

Dealer insist I have the latest version already installed...

Which is correct? Has anyone else got the new updated version that has been mentioned on this forum to have arrived around June 1st?

You have the latest factory installed version. They have since released version 9 for sale as an upgrade. This upgrade is not offered for free thru the dealerships.

Version 9 is out. However the "book" calls for 3.25 hrs to install. (ridiculous) I searched around and found a dealer who will do it for $100 for version 8 (my 2010 has never been updated).

Contacted Map N Hard today... Hard to do business with. :) They say 2015 9" Ultimate update N/A.. Has a bug.. Weeks out for Resolution.

not on pre 2015. It is a 6 disc set that must be installed in order with the car running...for 3.5 hours. Terrible job Hyundai did with this...

2013/14 use the USB to update and it doesn't need to go to the dealer. Can be done at home.

According to the MapnSoft rep I spoke to this AM (6/30/15), that NAM version is their V8.5 version maps which came out in January 2015. The soon to be released updated v9 version is still delayed due to software bugs but should be out soon. However, I was told earlier this month that it would be out before the end of this month, so just keep checking their website.

I have the same NAM version in my 2015 Genesis Ultimate that I bought at the beginning of this month, so I thought my maps were way out of date since I knew there was a v8.0 and v8.5 update released. Why the NAM and MapNSoft versions don't match is really stupid and confusing!

However, depending on when you bought your car and how much noise you want to make with Hyundai and the dealer, you might be able to get a coupon from Hyundai to defer the upgrade cost. As I mentioned, I thought my brand new Genesis' maps were way out of date and no one at the dealer or Hyundai could tell me the NAM version meant I had MapnSoft v8.5, so I raised a stink about buying a new car with way outdated GPS maps. Hyundai coordinated with the dealer (I don't know how that went), but Hyundai sent me a $100 and a $200 coupon to use to update my map software when it's released. From what I read in some other forum threads, Hyundai sent some new Genesis owners a $100 coupon, so I guess they sent me an extra $200 coupon. As they say, the squeaky wheel gets the grease...

The MapnSoft rep also told me the maps on navigation systems that use SD cards get updated twice a year and systems that use USB sticks get updated once a year. However, I didn't ask which years/models/systems he was talking about. But, at $219 for an update, I won't be updating that often. However on a side note, I got used to getting quarterly Garmin updates for my Chrysler 300S uconnect GPS via the lifetime updates obtained from a Nuvi GPS that I paid $130 for.

+1 same story here from MapnSoft. Mid-late July now.

Thanks, I am aware V9 on Jog systems was pulled back for more testing. This is the release after the bug fixes, just out today.

I knew that they had called back SDs and USB updates a couple of weeks ago, but I didn't notice they had also changed the "in stock" status, so thought what I saw when I checked the other day wasn't really an update when it still said "in stock".

I think I'll wait a bit and see if anyone is able to successfully install in now.

Just a quick note to let everyone know that I ordered and received the newest map update for my 2015 3.8 AWD Genesis. I followed their installation guide and completed the update in app. 1 hour. No problems since the installation. I will be happy to answer any questions.

For anyone else interested, I applied the V9 update to my 2013 Tech/Premium (Part number 91U21) and while it installed fine, the handsfree dialing is now broken and the backup camera doesn't work reliably any longer. Hyundai is replacing my radio as a result. I don't think the replacement radio will make a difference, but that's their intended solution at the moment.

Do you have the Ultimate? Can't tell from your post. I have been waiting for someone to do a successful install on the Ultimate.
