  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015 Genesis Sedan Reviews

Yup in Europe the price is significantly higher. My Veracruz cost me half of what I would have paid in Europe. The middle East prices are more in line with what North America is paying. So perhaps it's to do with import taxes? No incentives to buy the genesis in Europe over a German sedan....

I liked his delivery and very complete and well-shot review. Thanks.

2015 Hyundai Genesis 5 0

Detailed Review and Road…: http://youtu.be/YWZXf0JH_P4

Interesting to learn that the dash of the '15 is what the Lincoln Town Car should have looked like. Huh?!

Also, the first gen Genesis has three zone climate control. Does the '15 delete the rear zone?

^Yes, I figured this reviewer was wrong in saying that it only has 2-zone HVAC.

I've been sort of been getting 'review' fatigue - was almost not going to watch this - but glad I did - as others have said, very good review - worth a full watch.

Agreed, this was a good watch. I was also a little surprised that they got 4.75s 0-60 on this.

No way they got 4.75 sec 0-60.

New review by duPont Registry. Glowing review, but some strange items which seem incorrect or simply strange ("...one of fastest sedans on market", noise concern and Corvette compression ratio comparison).

Certainly the outlier when it comes to those few things.

Should blow some detractors' minds that DPR did a Genesis review.

C&D 2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan V-6 RWD

Fitted with 18-inch Hankook Ventus S1 Noble2 245/45 all-season tires, our rear-wheel-drive test vehicle managed to pull 0.87 g on the skidpad, the same number achieved by the 2012 Genesis sedan R-Spec. Perhaps more telling are the comments of the test driver, who described the car’s behavior as “surprisingly neutral and composed.”

Speaking of matting it, our Genesis sprinted from 0 to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds and covered the quarter-mile in 14.4 at 100 mph—not too shabby for a 4230-pound sedan.

One tick slower than what C&D got 0-60 for the E350 4Matic.

The Genesis’s direct competition, such as it is, starts many thousands of dollars higher—before being fitted with much of the above equipment at extra cost. While value alone may not be enough to entice brand loyalists away from established cars like the BMW 5-series and the Mercedes-Benz E-class, Hyundai tellingly reports that the most in-demand model is the fully loaded V-6 Ultimate, which runs $49,950 and includes basically any luxury tchotchke you can think of. With the latest Genesis, mixing a tried-and-true value proposition with satisfying driving dynamics has paid off—no matter how you spec it.

Highs:

Lots of content for the price, quiet highway ride, spacious interior.

Lows:

Lack of a three-pointed star or a spinning-propeller emblem may be troublesome for contestants in the suburban status derby.

Buried at the tail end of the DupontRegistry review is a link to an SAE interview with Hyundai America VP Mike O'Brien.

Excerpt from the CD review:

We love the smooth, solid feel of the bottom-hinged accelerator; it’s hefty enough that you can tap out a tune on it while cruising without affecting vehicle speed, but the pedal is completely linear in operation when you apply real pressure. Speaking of matting it, our Genesis sprinted from 0 to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds and covered the quarter-mile in 14.4 at 100 mph—not too shabby for a 4230-pound sedan.

So there’s a difference of 1.3 seconds to 60 between the MW and CD reviews what’s up with that. Both cars RWD.
