  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015 Genesis Sedan Reviews

I thought I might have heard from somebody that without the right package - the headrests aren't adjustable forward and back. I could be wrong...

They are adjustable fore and aft on the Ultimate, can't remember about the other models.

According to the Owner's Manual it looks like the headrests should be fully adjustable on any version as it doesn't call out any differences for different versions.

I can't read any more after the first two sentences:

The Hyundai Genesis sedan, is the automaker's first real attempt at building a luxury car. The Genesis sedan is a bargain-priced, near-luxury competitor for the Chrysler 300, Infiniti Q70, and Lexus GS.

Three Strikes:

1. The Hyundai Genesis sedan, is the automaker's first real attempt at building a luxury car. (Bad grammar)
2. near-luxury (Really? 'near' luxury? No.)
3. competitor for the Chrysler 300, Infiniti Q70, and Lexus GS (The Chrysler 300 is not in the same class as the Lexus GS or Infiniti Q70 - nor, technically, the Genesis 'anymore'. It's also not a midsize car - the Chrysler 200 is.)

There is just too much wrong for ME to read...

Great review. Loving the Pittsburgh accent!

The only thing that he seems to be a bit off on is size and pricing, as the car slots between a 5er and a 7er in size, and at a price point more comparable to a 3er. Otherwise it's a fairly informative and entertaining review.

Click Bait title:D

Especially considering that the Genesis wasn't even optioned out.

And the reason it edged the Lexus was b/c it was cheaper. Yet they point out the reasons why its cheaper lol.

Getting the nod: 2015 Hyundai Genesis 3.8 sedan second-quarter update
July 23, 2015

Genesis receives our highest recommendation

Hyundai Genesis sales are up more than 20 percent over last year, and it’s easy to see why. The already-good engine-trans combination was snuck into a new chassis underneath a gorgeous new body. That’s among the reasons we picked it for a year-long review.

“No, it’s probably not the last word in high-speed dynamics, but it is extraordinarily comfortable, capable and just plain right for daily use,” said one editor.

“At 80 mph, it felt surefooted and solid,” said another.

Pretty much in line w/ the general consensus for the 2G Genesis, including criticism of the feel of some of the switchgear (which I have thought Hyundai needs to address for the MCE).

From AutoWeek, that is high praise. I don't mind the switch gear - better would be great, but it is digging pretty deep to find something not done very well.

Agreed and loved when she put the rear arm rest down. The control panel has an amazing amount of buttons.

Anyone else find it odd that none of the written or video reviews out there mention anything about a "rough ride", "vibrations", or tire flat spotting?

The only one I've seen mention the tire campaign is a Consumer Reports article.

Yeah, I noticed and wondered about that, too. It seems that with the number of people who've noticed vibrations on demo cars that they just drove off the lot that it would happen often with reviewers, too.

Funny you guys would be talking about this vibration problem because I wondered about it the first time I test drove a Genesis just two days ago. Here is part of what I wrote in another thread which reported and highlighted a recent test drive I took of the Genesis:

"Immediately I noticed the car had a terrible wobble and vibration coming from the driver's side front. A tire was out of round, out of balance or something. He (salesman) said he felt it and it would go away as the tires warmed, which it did not. We continued on and it was a good drive and the car has potential although its ride quality could not really be determined due to the front end problem. The car was put together well and materials were nearly equal to my MB. I noticed the car had over 300 miles on it so someone should have noticed the front end problem".

Maybe this is what you all are talking about and is not a tire problem at all but a problem with the car itself. If so, I can't imagine Hyundai selling any Genesis sedan.
