If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. 2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

There's been a few shots of the interior throughout this thread. I doubt the legroom will be affected at all, but I'd be surprised if the 2014 Genesis had the same headroom as the current one only because of the sloping roofline.

from what i see, it looks nice. I really like the exhaust is thru the bumper, but not integrated with it.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

I chatted with a regional rep last weekend and he confirmed what we have speculated on here. He said the new car has a 10 speed transmission, available AWD and a new tech package with full Bluetooth capabilities. He also stated there will be 2 new colors introduced. The car will be released in Q2 2014 as a 2015 model.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Like the new color above. Don't care for the full view sunroof, however.

I'm certainly in no hurry to see the new model debut. 2015 is plenty soon enough for me. I'm enjoying my new car and also the fact that it's paid for.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Something odd about the wheel clearance. I t appears to be riding too low. Makes the wheels look too small.

I wonder when the 2014's will be showing up on dealer's lots...a bit earlier on in the Fall or late summer perhaps?

Maybe doing load weight testing while taking it around the track? Or maybe experimenting with adjustable air-ride (yeah right, but one can hope!)...

It definitely is down at the ride height of a car on coil-overs or on air... with no fender gap to speak of and little room for the suspension travel.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Those are some pretty low-profile tires; I sure hope they got the ride-quality/handling balance down. The use case of me driving my car around the Nurburgring is exactly 0 :-). I on the other hand do have to drive on Austin and Houston roads.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

i wonder how much the roll cage option is?

The photos appear to be on a banked high speed track, as such centrifugal force will force weight to the outside of the vehicle during the turn. Perhaps it is a standard (3.6) car which has softer settings, but non the less the springs and shocks are compressed on the outside of the vehicle during the turn.

This.

Also, I get that the roll cage is a safety measure. But adding one isn't the best thing for testing purposes. It could greatly improve structural rigidity and not be a true indicator of the chassis' actual performance without it.

Snork, the roll bar is on there for the test driver's safety in case the car crashes. Accidents are very common on the Nurburgring, and it's made worse by the fact that he's driving a car not meant for the track and that he doesn't have a lot of experience driving. Typical other adjustments car companies make when testing their cars on the track are non-OE tires, brake pads, and stiffer than factory suspension (yes, it's true). The only way you're going to get actual representative results is to go to a dealership, take one of the floor, and immediately to the track.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

I'm not sure that is the 3.8. The wheels are different, but the 3.8 has been seen with the larger muti-spoke wheels. Whatever engine option it has, this car was loaded to the gills. Heated steering wheel, power open and close trunk and what looks like voice activated controls. Oh and no one noticed the steering wheel has a Genesis badge on it, although I'm not sure if that was already commonplace for cars sold outside of Korea.

From these photos and others I've seen online this morning it looks like the dash and doors have massive slabs of plastic wood trim. If that's the case i will make the car seem cheap and down market.

Could be, but could also be real wood with a glossy finish like the Equus.

I sure hope they keep the psychedelic paint job as on option:) Car looks like it has some decent lines, but I will reserve judgement until I can see and learn more.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Can't tell from that particular exterior shot, but from another I've seen, she sure looks like she has a huge behind... not necessarily a good thing. (EDIT - some of the rear pictures actually look better... I'll reserve judgement on the "fast-back-like" rear window/trunk lid until I see the real thing).

Also... if that's the logo IN the grill... I'm hoping the US-version will be logo-less. I really do.

I'm still not feeling the interior. Black plastic buttons on a lighter dash scream "cheap" to me, I don't know why.

I'm digging the LCD and clock so far, but for some reason, the latest shots are very underwhelming to me. Except for that panoramic sunroof. Do want.

I hope the finished product wows me.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Anybody notice the door trim on the driver's door is completely different from the rear door? Carbon fiber maybe? I also notice there is LED lighting underneath the door panels and I wonder what the button that's next to cruise does. Maybe "Drive Select Mode" will actually disable ESC. One thing I don't see that is kind of disappointing is no LCD gauge cluster like from the 2014 Equus.
