2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Guys (and girls). As a member of the Hyundai Think Tank I have been selected to join Hyundai for the official launch of the 2015 Genesis in Scottsdale, Arizona at the Sanctuary Resort all expenses paid next weekend April 4th through April 6th.

Bill was this the event they were asking for those who speak different languages?

Guys (and girls). As a member of the Hyundai Think Tank I have been selected to join Hyundai for the official launch of the 2015 Genesis in Scottsdale, Arizona at the Sanctuary Resort all expenses paid next weekend April 4th through April 6th. First of all, thank you Hyundai. Things like this should encourage all of you to join the Hyundai Think Tank. The point is, if there are any outstanding questions, please email me at bill.fisher@outlook.com and I will answer them personally and/or on this site. I will have the opportunity to drive the car for hours and should be able to answer anything you need to know.
Did they tell you that they will reveal trim level details and prices?

^ I'm thinking a Lexus ES/Lincoln MKZ competitor.

Hyundai will soon have 4 luxury sedans in its lineup.

If Hyundai brings it over (don't see why they wouldn't if they went thru the trouble to develop it) - would be interesting to see how it would impact sales of the more expensive 2G Genesis.

I'm not sure why they think it's a Genesis. It doesn't look like a Genesis at all. The proportions are all way off. Not even the taillights looks the same(same inner design, but different overall shape).

Wouldn't the competitor for those cars be the Azera? I actually think it is the RK sedan. I theorized that we would start seeing spy shots of that car once the 2015 Genesis and Sonata were introduced.

EDIT: Or that could be the next Azera. The proportions looks more like it could be FWD.

I asked my buddy yesterday if any of the '15s were in yet as I had seen a ship offloading new coupe's and other Hyundais. He said no but they did still have a bunch of '14s they were processing. So I'm still wondering if they will make a May time frame for being at the dealers. I'll keep checking.

Seems to be too large for the RK and has more FWD proportions.

The Azera competes against the Avalon, not the ES (does not have a luxury grade interior; arguably, the Cadenza does tho).

Personally, I would rather Hyundai not go down the route of a FWD luxury sedan, but apparently, there is a demand for it in Hyundai's home market.

I think down the road, we'll see a diesel powered Genesis as well as the Germans have been cleaning up w/ their diesels in the Korean auto market.

Pricing on the 2015 Genesis:

$38k - 3.8 RWD
$40.5k - 3.8 AWD
$51.5k - 5.0 RWD

Pretty much where I thought the 2G Genesis would start - around $38-39k.

Appear to be fog lights at bottom of 3.8 front?

As mentioned previously, premium gas is recommended for the 3.8 also (but probably runs on regular also).

PR release today said, "Hitting showroom floors later this month".

Really looking forward to checking it out. Still question what I guess are fake lower lights on 3.8. Wondering if the stalk on right of wheel on 3.8 has detent for fog lights as present models have.

That lack of fog lights is killing me..it's a look thing from the front that loses a bit of luxury without having them...even if they were regular fog lights I would be ok with that and go with the 3.8 AWD Ultimate package...

But if I go 5.0 RWD Ultimate to get the same features, I gain the fog lights and bigger engine but lose heated steering wheel and rear seats...WTH Hyundai...

If the 3.8 has regular fog lights instead of none at all, I think I'm going to lean towards the 3.8 AWD Ultimate and call it a day.

My 2010 was the fully loaded 4.6 but coming from a 3.5L Maxima, I think the 3.8 would feel just fine to me.

jcox12-I wanted an AWD V8 and I also said that it will likely not be too difficult to transition from the 4.6 to 3.8. Look at pic of the 3.8 on the Hyundai website. Are they lights or decoration? (pics on "specs" page with 3.8 on left side)

Yikes - $55,700 MSRP for a loaded RWD V8. And no heated rear seats or steering wheel.

I have to agree. This is nothing short of "yikes". They both removed features and significantly increased the price penalty for the V8. Not only did it go up twice as much just comparing 14MY to 15MY numbers that's without accounting for Nav being included on the V6 now. So the V6 went up ~$1500, while the V8 went up $4000? That makes no sense with a powerplant that's essentially carry-over.
