2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

You're right, if you look at it - they do look really similar. Bummer!

Yep thats whait I think.....

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

One thing I love about the Genesis is the 'airy' feeling you get from low beltline, large side glass, where as lot of new cars go for high belt line, low roof design, ala Sonata/Azera. Sadly, looks like as part of precision fluid Hyundai design it's headed in that direction.

Yes I agree, the lower beltline of the Genesis gives it a more stately, luxury sedan look. The squared-off high-back-end of so many mid-grade $30k sedans (e.g. G37/Altima/Camry/etc.) make them look prius-like common. The bigger the wedge angle the cheaper the look.

As 2013 Honda Accord rear end looks strikingly simiar to Genesis. Parked next to one today, and couldn't believe how close they look.

As a former Accord owner who moved on to the '09 Genesis, I have to say I really like the lights/chrome on the back end of the new Accord. :D Honda has certainly taken a queue from Hyundai with the lights+chrome, and leveled the beltline in the back of the 2013 Accord... definitely gives it a more luxury look.

Hmm

Compare the K9 rear with genesis Spyshot: Same muffler look, rear lights, etc - who really knows lol

The spy shots photo has the rear tail light much wider and the exhaust outlets are upside down in form if you compare to the K9. Economics wise it would be smart to share the platform and some similarities which almost all companies do now a days.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Well i wouldn't be surprised if it looked very similar to the KIA one, since they both share similar parts and products

I wonder when they will get some front pictures of this.

GunkK

That's impressive CSI kind of work.

Definitely a next-gen Genesis. The vehicle in the spy shots does not have the fender vents like the Quoris. The vehicle in the spy shots also has a sharp kink in the rear door's window while the Quoris does not.

"Definitely"? Really?? Hell, we don't even know for sure that the car is a Hyundai! Certainly quite a leap regardless to say that it must be a Genesis if its not a K9. Btw, I don't recall seeing a reference to the source of all these mystery shots. OP?

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

In one of the pictures, there is a current gen Genesis driving along side the disguised vehicle...hardly a coincidence. Oh, and Mark, I am not aware of another South Korean auto manufacture...

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Also Mark, some basic googling will show you where the pictures are from.

Some basic googling will show you there's more than Hyundais and Kias made in South Korea... ;-)

Oh, and R..., coincidence is never "proof", but grant that it lends to the point of it probably being a Hyundai.

Personally, I hope it is the 2G Gen. To me it resembles the Quoris significantly, which is a good thing since I find Kia's new flagship very sharp. ...and I'll prob kick myself for buying a 2013 RSpec later for not waiting! Oh well...

Allow me to reword my original statement: enlighten me, as I am unaware of another car company from South Korea that produces full-size, refined, luxury sedans.

Let's use some logic now ;)
