2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Actually I went ahead and purchased the 2014 IS350 F Sport. I was waiting for the new Genesis anxiously but seeing the interior photos of the spy car, it kind of let me down. Yes it's better than current model but that's not saying much.

Good luck with the IS. Muuuuch too small for me, though.

Actually, if the G's current leather dash look was carried forward to 2015, that would be fine with me. All they would need to do is upgrade that center instrument area that has always looked like it doesn't belong in a lux car. Oh, yes, also make that damn ashtray convertible to a storage and coin holder box.

Interior is what really sold me on the 2014 Lexus IS F Sport. I really like it much more so than any of the other competitors. But Lexus 2014 F Sport doesn't offer memory feature or cooled seats which seems bit silly.

Well... I guess the whole family is starting to look more alike:

That's a rendering of the new Sonata. They also look a lot more like their Kia cousins now. Not sure all of this is a good thing though - I liked the "edgy" approach Hyundai took with the last generation. Now? I guess it remains to be seen. I'm still excited about the Genesis Gen II.

I don't get it. You waited this long for the 2G Genesis and decided not to buy it based on grainy spy shot photos of a half covered interior?

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

If this thing is still over 4200lbs it'll be another tank.

*two cents* keep the current 5.0, and drop 600lbs or more and turn it into a truly great driving car

So everything that weighs 4200lbs or more is tank? Everything in this class of car weighs that much or more and none of those cars have any handling issues. The weight isn't the problem. It's the tuning. If Hyundai gets the tuning right(crosses fingers), the Genesis shouldn't have any problems being hustled.

That looks about right. I really don't see much resemblance to Kia. On a slightly unrelated note, the 2014/15 Sonata has been spotted being tested on the Nurburgring. I guess Hyundai is putting that new testing facility to good use.

That grill on the "new" Sonata rendering is a big step backward. Makes it look like the version before the current model.

Yes, I had real high hopes that this would be my next car but like I said interior spy shot was a let down. While your point is valid about not a lot of details being revealed but what I saw in that spy shot was enough to know that Genesis interior wasn't something I would like.

I'm still curious to find out about other details but it looks like not a lot of details are coming.

I would agree. I'm not sure what Hyundai is trying to do with these designs. Looks ok but it could be a lot better.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Agree on the new Sonata...very VW Passat CC looking. While that's not necessarily a bad thing IMHO, it's a more conservative design. I liked that the current Sonata was at least a partial step outside of the bland box for a mid-size family sedan.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

that front on the new genesis looks like a ford fusion.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

wooooooow

genesis 2015

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

The first time I saw the Genesis, at the 2008 New York auto show, I felt a passion and desire to own one. Bought my 2009 Genesis and love the car. Taking a look at this photo I see a nice, generic, car -- but feel nothing.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Looks like it may have staggered tires like the Equus.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

I like the Gen II Genesis, even though upon seeing the larger picture of it above it makes me wish the grille was less angular and more curved.

The rendering of the new Sonata is absolutely a step backward in my opinion. Not that it isn't nice but it looks like a Chevy that you would find in an Enterprise rental lot. I hope it looks jazzier in person.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

The only car I've seen this year that has my heart pumping is the Cadillac CTS.

I actually came to Hyundai following 8 Cadillacs. The new CTS has GM winning me back into the fold.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

THANK YOU HYUNDAI!!

...for not making me feel like I need to upgrade from my 2012.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Looks like the headlights are HID ? ...if that's the case I'm really surprised and disappointed, they should be all LED and auto high-beam. Front looks a bit funny having part of the grill cutting into the hood line, agree it looks very ford like..sadly. The color looks to be somewhat like the sterling blue metallic they stopped making after 2011's.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Hopefully, this means that the Sterling Blue color, or similar, is back! The front end seems to slope down hard from windshield to grill. Overall, the front is clean and distinctive, with enough of a hint of Mercedes and Audi. Looking forward to the glamor pics instead of spy shots. Then we will have a better chance to fall in love, or not. I'm also hoping for a better looking dashboard than we have seen thus far.
