If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. 2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Something does not look right about that pic in post #513.
Either that's a Korean giant or the Gen II Genny is smaller than a Civic!

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

It looks as though the picture might be pretty heavily distorted by the large focal length of the lens taking the picture. Several proportions seem to be a bit off, and not just on the car. Still, props to the photographer for getting the shot.

Taking some of the details in the picture and mentally wrapping them on the shape and general proportions of the test car on the 'ring with the black and white angular paint job yield a positive result imo:

1) Increasing the proportional size of the nose
2) Decreasing the rake of the hood from windshield to nose
3) Lengthening the overall hood
4) Moving the front wheel forward

As previous posts have pointed out I would also guess that we are primarily seeing a base or near-base V6 model in most of these pictures. Full LED lights have been shown in some spy shots, but are not included in this picture. I'm hoping for a slightly more aggressive lower fascia on the R-Spec/V8. I don't care for the continuous opening on the lower section as it's seen above.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

The first time I saw the Genesis, at the 2008 New York auto show, I felt a passion and desire to own one. Bought my 2009 Genesis and love the car. Taking a look at this photo I see a nice, generic, car -- but feel nothing.

+1

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Kudos to Gene for posting the photo!!!

Interesting: No fog lights? And the grill is ... well ... weak.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Also Brembo brakes should be standard on the R-Spec'd version, or at least an option like the coupe. I'd happily pay 5-6k more to see some top notch tech and better brakes on the car, even at 45-47k it's still a bargain compared to most of the current market.

One thing I noticed was the Genesis went from being a "Full Size" in 2009-2011 to a mid size for 12-13's? I didn't think the overall dimensions of the car had changed much since being released.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

...and to me for actually taking the pic and posting it here first!: http://www.genesisowners.com/hyundai-genesis-forum/showthread.php?t=12263 ;)

Great job, phar44! Please spill your guts if you can and tell us more. Or, are you surrounded by secret agents with weapons? Can you be bribed with cheap liquor and fast women?

Where and when did you snap the photo? Did you get more? Was that the only car, or did you see more? Will the USA version come with the wing badge, or the H logo? Give us the wings!

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Not sure I like the lower facia- black space running the entire front length. Projector headlamps signal no LEDS for N America- unless option- but this looks like a photo shoot car- and those are generally loaded up.

wooooooow

genesis 2015

edit by admin: Sorry, we are not allowed to post these pictures. Keep in mind that if AutoBlog removed the images, it is probably in everyone's best interest to avoid posting them.

does anyone else see what I see?

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

That's a pitiful picture of a Genny. You really need to get a better shot than that before you post it. It's waaaay distorted!

YOU need to SEE a better picture before you decide whether you want to BUY one.

Most of us are thankful for any updates/info from Phar and others, even if the distance at which they're taken limits their quality. I, for one, would be perfectly happy with a cell phone picture if it shows us anything new. I do agree that the proportions in this photo don't look right, The panorama picture he posted on the other thread seems to be better matched to previous spy shots especially in terms of hood length and rake. From that photo the car looks to have very good proportions and I expect the nose seen in this picture will look better once we get a shot that isn't extreme telephoto.

I'm not going to buy one. I have my car and very happy with it, so what's that about?
If you look at the 2 pictures phar posted, they aren't even the same car. So, before you start hating on me, get your stuff together.......... better yet, go troll somebody else.

Sorry, let me try that again. I had no intention of trolling (and don't think I did). Perhaps I should have just stated my disagreement instead of proposing a correction: You are flaming someone for posting OC on a spy shot thread because their picture looks too much like a spy shot.

I was pointing out that the quality of such a shot so far in advance of release only matters if you're in the market to buy one and plan major purchases well in advance. I do tentatively plan on buying one, and if spyshots had revealed a particularly hideous car I would be spending my money on other toys. Otherwise I can't imagine a reason for caring.

Do you have any evidence or reason to believe the pictures are of two different cars? If so, what car is in the panorama pic? I can't think of anything existing that matches the silhouette. The rear seems to split the difference between an a6 and a7 in terms of proportion.

Ya gotta laugh. A guy criticizes a photo expert for providing us Genesis fans with a clean pic of a much-anticipated and long-awaited view of the new Genesis. This just goes to prove the old saying "No good deed goes unpunished." Please forgive him, photo guy phar44. EVERY other member here appreciates your sleuthing efforts.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Here's another "pitiful" picture. These pics are all the same car, just shot with different cams under different conditions. Shagnat, don't look...I don't want you to get upset! Wow!

Thanks again for another pic Phar. You didn't happen to get one with a good view of the back or tail-light did you?

The tail lights wrap around the side really far, and I'm still having some trouble sorting out the proportions, but overall it still looks good to me.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

unfortunately, no rear shots.
