  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2016 Genesis News?

For those Canadians out there it looks like the only change for 2016 is that it now comes with the rear window power sunshade.

I went to my local dealer (Towne Hyundai in Denville NJ) yesterday and talked to him about getting a 2016 Genesis 5.0 in Ibiza Blue. He said they have not seen any 5.0's yet but he thinks I'll only have to wait a week or three to get the one I want. He didn't even have the pricing yet so he will call me Tuesday with his opening offer once he can get the confirmed prices from the corp. He says that if I commit to buying he can get the importer or whoever to send the next blue one his way in place of whatever they had scheduled to send him.

Luckily I am in no rush to get it so I can wait till the one I want is available. It is helpful that the only option to choose for with the 2016 5.0 is the color.

Looks like the power rear sunshade and rear side sunshades are indeed gone on the USA 5.0 model :(

Odd that they're optional on the 3.8 and Not Available on the 5.0.
Until you see the cars, I would not draw any conclusions yet. There are some other known errors in the documentation published so far.

That would be a huge miss, if accurate. I use them all the time. Looks like the price dropped for 2016.
According to the 2016 Genesis "Specifications" page on the Hyundai USA website, it does look like the shades are N/A on the V8. Maybe they figure that V8 owners can afford to get their windows tinted?

Also, I noticed that the adjustable suspension is not listed on the V8. But as mentioned before, not sure how accurate that is.

On that site it says "5.0 Adds or Substitutes" which means the items shown are in addition to the 3.8 model.

Sharp observation! Seems to explain everything.

Not really - on the spec page Mark posted, it says "N/A" and not "Standard". That suggests they are not standard on the 5.0 (and no available options this year). As said, the site might be wrong - we'll have to wait until we see at least a window sticker for a 5.0.

Hmmm. Downer....

I've been trying to find 2016 5.0's on the inventory search page but so far I've only found a bunch of 3.8's in the Northeast USA (Jersey, etc).

Anyone find any dealers that have a 5.0? The answer to our question regarding the sun shades and suspension is a phone call away at that point or if the dealer's website has Monroney stickers for their inventory available for viewing.

If the continuous damping control suspension has indeed been removed I wonder if it was to cut costs or due to long-term reliability issues.

Do I understand correctly that the only known difference between the 2015 and 2016 models is the addition of fog lights to the 2016 3.8 models?

I'm curious since I have a pretty decent offer on a 2015 model that has exactly the packages and color I want, and unless there is a really good reason to wait for a 2016 (fog lights are not something I care about), I'll probably get the 2015 they have in stock ...

The 2016s will come with white daytime running lights.

Starting in 2016 model year, Hyundai has increased the warranty on the info-tainment system (audio, Nav, etc) to 5 years - 60K miles. For 2015 and prior years, it is 3 years - 36K miles. There are some other minor differences, but not a lot.
