Seriously, the 5.0 2015s that are around all seem to be demos with something around 5k miles on them, or they don't have the ultimate package. I don't want to go out of state to buy a car.

I know the new 5.0s are listed in the brochures and all the online sources. He mentioned that too. He is not trying to sell me a 2015, he has not even mentioned it. My family has been buying cars from this guy since 2001 so he is no newby, he should know how the Korean production normally runs.

The A6 is an outstanding car, I had an A8L and A6 in the past, very nice, inside and out. An A6 optioned like the genesis 3.6 with all packages (at $50,000) is north of $70,000 (it will have quattro, so add that to the Genesis price if important) and leases for over $1,000/month (that's the last price I got when I checked with the Audi dealer). After having an Audi TT roadster, A8L and A6 - all loaded quattros - I have decided that I don't want to spend that kind of money on something I spend less than 50 hours/month using.

If you're willing to spend the money, the Audi is probably the best vehicle in that segment to have.

Yep, I am down to less than 8 hours per month. When I get gas now, I only fill it to about 10 gallons, because I don't want the gas to get too stale.

I just know what I have read. Here is one quote:

"It's a good rule of thumb to avoid leaving gas in your tank or a storage container for more than a coupe of months, if you can avoid it."

One full tank of gas might be two months for me. They also point out that the gas may have been in the refinery or station tanks for awhile.

True - though I'd be concerned it would not pass inspection at some point as I don't believe it's legal for them not to turn off when high beam are on?

My wife's Elantra only sees about 3,000 miles per year so all I use in it is non-ethanol. Have seen to many gummed fuel systems with ehanol, especially long term. I also only use non-ethanol in small engine tools. My Genny see enough mileage that I don't worry (18,000 miles since March)

Well, here's an update. The sales manager called on Saturday and he says that there are no 2016 5.0s anywhere in the US or the pipeline. They also don't have the dealer's pricing info on that model. He is of the opinion right now that the 5.0 is not going to be available at all. He is going to check with some people he knows in the Hyundai hierarchy today and let me know what he finds. I'll post again when I hear something.

If this is true I'll have to reconsider the cars I've rejected in favor of getting a V8. Maybe I'll just say screw it and get a Tesla!

Here's the latest from the sales manager - the 2016 5.0 will not be available till sometime in the spring.

I suspect you will find a V6 RWD long before spring in NC.

I just checked the websites of two Hyundai dealers near me. Neither of them has any 2016 Genesis sedan's listed in stock according to their website. One dealer has 23 of the 2015 Genesis sedans, and other still has 45 of them.

I would not be surprised if they actually have some 2016's on their back lot, still wrapped in plastic, but they don't want to display them they lower their 2015 inventory.

Ten 2016's near me in Central Jersey - all 3.8 AWD's.

I don't know where you live, but my searches indicate they are in New England, NY, NJ and PA. Nothing south or west of that. So it seems like the Northeast is the only area that got any, and they are all AWD. The dealers here in NC all say they are waiting for pricing to be finalized for their orders, so it seems to be happening in rounds.

And those would be the areas that could most use AWD for the upcoming winter. Get the AWD out there before the snow flies. Make sense, I guess.

Careful, Towne Hyundai in Denville NJ has some listed as RWD, but when you look at the windows stickers they are actually AWD.
