  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2016 Genesis News?

The v8 BWM has twin turbos and has 400hp. Less HP than the 5.0 Genesis, but since the Genesis is so heavy, i don't think it's as fast.

Actually, the 550i has 445 HP and 480 lb-ft of torque and is at least a half a second faster than the heavier and less powered Tau V8. That all comes with a price however....

I'd like to see some elaboration on the "quicker and more efficient" part of the article..

That was speaking of the BMW 5-Series...

The twin turbos in the 5 series will give better fuel mileage and they may be a tick quicker, more so for the 550i.

Yeah, 0-60 in 4.2 seconds for the 550i. I know that's not what BMW says - but they also under-rate the car power-wise...

I think NA is better than turbo. You don't have turbo lag and get to the power curve earlier in the revs.

Genesis needs to lose a little weight. Too heavy to be nimble and fully sporty.

I've had turbo'd cars, I have an X5 right now, which i absolutely love. I favor the NA cars a little more just because they are more reliable. Less stuff to go wrong. Turbos have more potential for modding. Programming, turbo upgrades...

There's no much turbo lag anymore. I don't notice it at all in the cars I've driven.

Yes, that's the advertised horsepower. Dynos say closer to 500hp at the crank.

Just picked up a 2016 GENESIS brochure at my local dealer. He tells me that they have a 2016 due to deliver in the next few days? He said that there were many sitting in Portland OR. waiting for the word to ship. The good news for those of us that are waiting is that the 2016 3.8 now have LED fog lights, as well as LED DRL's. No prices yet but soon I hope. The Fog lights are listed in the SIGNATURE PACKAGE. the DRL's are now standard equipment. Don't see many changes to the body. Hope to place an order asap.

Any chance you can scan it and post the PDF here?

Any changes in the colours?

(I'm really really hoping they don't mess with Ibiza Blue before I have a chance to buy one...)

No guarantee that US colors are the same as Canadian "colours."

That sounds good. I wouldn't mind seeing a couple of other changes as well, but mostly I want to see Hyundai stop producing cars with vibration issues.

IBIZA BLUE is still an option on the 2016 models. Looks like they dropped MARRAKESH BEIGE from our choices. Interior Colors remain the same. I scanned a couple of pages but as a newbe I wasn't able to attach. Any advise? I will keep trying.

If you scanned it as a photo you should be able to click on the icon in the gray area of the message box that looks like a mountain scene, and add the scan there as a photo.

Which will require the photo to be at an image sharing site with addressable URL, such as PhotoBucket.

Thanks - so it looks like LED DRL's on all and foglights available on the 3.8 are the only real changes. I wonder if the DRL's can be retrofit (fog lights can be) - it will be interesting to see how they are wired?

Also interesting that it mentions Siri Eyes Free, but not CarPlay or Android Auto? Hard to believe the 2016's would not at least have Android Auto when the 2015 Sonata already has it???

Thanks for posting the brochure.

Should we assume then that the current LED brow lights become the LED DRL's? If so, would hope it is a simple wiring switch.

EDIT: But now that I look back, aren't the Canadian LED brow lights brighter than the current USA parking light LED accents? That could be a little more tricky.

Not that easy as the 2015's appear to send the DRL signal down the turn signal wire. The pin position marked as DRL on the 2015 headlight harness connectors is empty (no wire in that position) for USA models. So, I suspect, a module upstream (the Body Control Module?) and the front harness itself would need to be changed = not so easy and maybe not even possible. We'll see...

Heads up display becomes standard on the 5.0, wow that seems like a pretty big upgrade.

Nice work guys. I was hoping to see a bird's eye or all around view camera system available, but you can't have everything.... Those are some nice updates.
