  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

AA & ACP release

I sure wish Hyundai, or Google, or anyone who does retrofits, would figure out how to push Google Maps onto my, not so great, 9.2 inch Ultimate Screen, with the mentally challenged Atom processor.

Until then, an iPhone provides much of the capability is available without CP, and wirelessly. Siri gives much of the capability and Bluelink Destination search (Google based) also provides the search you want, albeit at a price.

You all suck :-).

If you have a smartphone you can have all this too... all you need is this:

For those who already updated the software in the car, did you have to keep the engine running during the entire update? The instructions says that the engine need to turned on during the upgrade. Let me know.

i just had my car in the On position, I set it to update in went back into my office, came out 50 mins later and it was done

This guy's jealous... I keep hearing conflicting reports, will the 9.2 ever get AA?

I did my update yesterday, it did not go well. During the update in the car, the whole thing froze for almost 2hours in one spot. It froze when updating the GPS module (4/7). I had to stop the engine and turn it after two hours. After engine restart it skipped the GPS update and continued with the next one. Finally it finished and did not complain about any errors. But I am playing with Android auto, I am getting frequent disconnects. Not sure if the update is buggy or it is a problem with my phone. Being the early adopters I guess this is expected.

has anyone here that has done the update, had a bad experience once the SD car has finished downloading into the nav system? Bad reboot, nav system not starting or couldn't get the system back up and running?

I noticed Hyundai posted the video I linked below on YouTube yesterday evening. On it, the guy says to hit the "reset" button during installation if you have any issues.

Check your micro usb cable. Might be intermittent.

Watch this video. Is it just me, or are they doing this install on a 2015/16 Genesis with the 9.2" screen? It appears to be high-def and lacks the bezel found in the 8.0"...

That's not a Genesis. Missing the splash screens and the buttons are different. Me thinks this be a Sonata... or something.

Definitely a Sonata....

Has anyone used USB to update a Genesis?

I need some help. I downloaded the update. Installed it. Everything is working as it was before. I feel better.
Now I plug in the phone to the usb. The phone and the Genesis connect and Android Auto starts and runs. Voice commands work great Now the Problem. I get no sound from the Google Maps or Google Music Play. Google maps turns off the sound for anything that may be on like the CD and looks like everything is working like the music progress bar.
The phone still works with sound using Android Auto.
Am I missing an app or is something not configured correctly?
Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

I have an Ultimate, so there is no AA or ACP, but there is an update of some kind available. I don't find any Download window on the MyHyundai website. Has anyone else done the non AA, ACP update? If so, where is the download window on the website? Also, just what is updated?

Once again Canada is screwed regarding this whole ordeal. Canadian vehicles don't seem to be getting the download link on myhyundai.com. Going directly to the AA download page (from the link someone posted here) redirects back to the dashboard.

Not too surprising, considering Canadian Sonatas didn't get the ACP update either back when it was released for some 2015 trims. Nice going, Hyundai!

Yeah but we got the V8 Ultimate AWD (which wouldn't get the update anyway). so there 'merica.

I'm in the middle of the update now. The download on the PC went very smoothly. The upload into the car is in process now and I think it'll take about 45 minutes.

My update is done. While Siri already provided much of the functionality, the display integration is nice. Pandora, I Heart Radio, and Tuned In Radio all worked great. The music app took me a minute to navigate, but it works well especially with Siri.

I did not drive anywhere yet, but the Map application looks at your recent email for destination suggestions. I set the destination as work, and it seemed to suggest 2 routes that were good, one that was not great, but I think it missed my normal way to work. I'll give that a shot later.

The best part of this so far is NOT the CP app. As I was playing with going back and forth for between CarPlay and the Genesis native apps, I got into my Genesis NAV. As I poked around to see if there were any differences...... (drum-roll!.....) 3D Map option!

That was a nice touch. My update included the April 2016 map. I know that some got a version with a Sept 2015 version. I don't have any idea of why there are different versions. I got my car in November. Perhaps this varies by purchase date, or the fact that my radio got swapped out in April. Anyway, so far so good.
