  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Aftermarket Exhaust options!

Regarding dyno results, I don't think you'll get them. Ark hasn't even provided results for the Stinger yet and it's been available for nearly a year. Same goes for Borla, Thermal, Magnaflow, and any others that have made Stinger catbacks.

The general consensus is catbacks don't provide much in the way of performance for our cars. Kia/Hyundai designed the stock system pretty well (even with the weird bends and crimps it has). The stock catback weighs about 55lbs though, so there is benefit of shedding weight.

The money maker is mid and down-pipes. On the Stinger mid-pipes are adding 30 hp on a dyno. HFC/mid-pipes are good for 50+ hp.

Ultimate Performance and JunBl has made a HFC/mid-pipe combo for the Stinger and SSR makes secondary cat delete/mid-pipes. Someone may want to reach out to them to inquire about potentially getting involved in the G70 market. (they might fit already, someone just has to take one for the team and try it out)

Reached out to ARK regarding Dyno testing of the GRiP exhaust for the G70...

We wish we can dyno it. but we’re located in California which Genesis G70market not available yet. But once market is available for us, we definately have dyno done soon.

..given they have an exhaust for the Stinger w/out a Dyno, I bet you are right in that we probably won't get any numbers from this. Oh well. It certainly sounds good!

Maybe ssr would send a set to test fit or at least give some sort of measurement to see if they are the same. I have emailed with no response but I do not own a g70 yet waiting on dealer.

It would be nice if they sent out a set and allowed the buyer to return it if it didn't fit. That would help them and the community.

If I owned one I would have done it already, come on somebody get on this. They aren't being sold in Cali yet this could be the reason since they are in orange county. Maybe soon lol

im waiting for ark exhaust for my g70! hope it sounds good.

Sounds pretty dang good in their sound video!

I'm hesitant on it, though. I think it sounds the best out of all aftermarket exhausts for the G70 I've heard so far; but, I'm not convinced that their x-pipe (also has an h-pipe, too) design is the most effective - it seems like it would actually impede flow instead of improve scavenging.

It is next to impossible to choose a exhaust by video clip, but really hove no other choice. So today I bit the bullet and ordered Kunstwerk evc. Fingers crossed! Will be shipped in a week priority, so I figure I will see it in 2 to 3 weeks. $1900 with shipping.

Please put up a video once you get it , it sounds bad ass for sure , i was leaning towards a popcorn exhaust with crackles and pops but this sounds really good

Sounds f'ing amazing. So you get the exhaust + the open/close option via remote?

I can't wait to see how it comes out. That first clip sounded great.

Aren't the pops and crackles results of the engine tuning? I could swear it has something to do with fuel mix and detonation

You are right about fuel igniting in the exhaust which causes the pops but i do believe it is dependant on the exhaust layout and if it alows excess fuel into the pipes to get ignited.

That being said , i really have no idea lol
