  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Aftermarket Exhaust options!

Lol I plan to install it myself this weekend. Will record some clips once installed.

Reviving a dead thread. I just received my RES titanium exhaust valvetronic exhaust and I am not aware of any other G70s running this setup. I will share clips after installing, but I have to say this exhaust is gorgeous. Sucks its under the car...

My god. My eyes. I can't take it. It's too beautiful! :suicide:
Based on the videos on their website, its going to sound amazing too! I thought the Maintec one was the best sounding so far, but this takes the cake

for 4500 dollars this should be the best sounding exhaust out there, and it better give massages and happy endings for that price

3451 USD (still stupid expensive, but not as bad lol) -- You'll have to check with @Rlk20025 about the happy endings though :hillarious:

I'm curious? Were those pipes mandrel bent or are those very short sections welded to each other? All the non-blued metal looks like ground welds? Is it just me or has anyone else had this same thought? Again, just my curiosity.

Looked like that to me as well. Seem like pretty short sections.

Pretty sure they're small sections welded together. A lot of other titanium exhaust manufacturers (looking largely at ones for supercars) do that to get that striped look. Google image search "Sheepey Race exhaust" and you'll see a lot of their custom titanium exhaust work

I dig that look personally. But I also love the look of a gorgeous weld haha. It’s just one way to get a mandrel bend with out having the machine as well

yeah they are definitely multiple welded sections on the X pipe. I’d venture to guess thats at least part of what makes it so expensive. I can’t imagine how long it must have taken to weld that section alone since titanium is a bit trickier to weld than SS. Theres a slightly cheaper version that you can get domestically through KHARtunerz, but its the H-pipe design. I am also weird and love the look of a good weld. Also, I prefer the flow/sound of an X pipe.

Not sure if people have already seen these, but I found 2 exhausts that I haven't seen before...

First, Jun BL has their titanium exhaust for sale. Has EVC. I heard about it before and seen the video clip, but didn't know you could actually order it. Just like @Rlk20025 's new exhaust, this thing ain't cheap! (For the record, I don't think this one is nearly as nice as yours!)

Jun Bl 3.3T-GDi G70 Titanium EVC Catback Exhaust genesis

Next is a brand I've never seen before, also an EVC type as an option. They have a lot of pictures of this one, also scroll down to see/hear the video.

I apologise if these were already linked/mentioned before.

Yeah I didn't go with the titanium mostly because of cost but also thought it was a little raspy.

The a.june searched several sound clips but personally didnt like it either.

After having my Kunstwerk evc for about 2000miles I love the sound. Had a valve issue in the beginning but they sent me a redesigned set and do like very much no issues. Borla for stinger sounds probably the best but wanted a quiet option.
I also like the Kunstwerk remote rather than a switch in dash or under dash.

The first one is a bit raspy, but $4150 and you still don't get free shipping :roflmao: :hillarious: :suicide:

The 2nd one, not a fan.

$500 - May need minor modification. I've put in a query if they will make it G70 specific. I've also included a link to their intakes as well.

Agreed on both counts. Haha. Magnaflow is the best, IMO. Hopefully they get their crap together and finally make one for the G70. In the meantime, mine has become a little louder. It's perfect now. Deep, growly when I get on it, zero rasp. I love it.

Do exhaust systems break-in (or down) over long periods of time? I could swear my car sounds better/louder these days (9600 miles clocked) than it did a few months ago. Maybe its just the "cold" weather, but I actually went to check if I had the fake sound turned on

Yup. Some people call it break-in. You get some carbon buildup around the baffles and sound deadening material within each muffler/silencer, reducing the effectiveness, so things get a little louder over time. Some styles of mufflers don't do this, though, like certain flowmaster mufflers and their derpy resonance maze Chambers or whatever they call them...

Example..

Wahp wahp.

Obviously I've never been a flowmaster fan. Lol.

The change in tone over time/use is most notable in mufflers that use some sort of packing, like fiberglass, which can settle.
