  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Android Auto for Genesis?

I'm going to take a flyer and say that if you are interested in Android Auto, you probably have a Google Account. If you have a Google account, then you have easy access to Google Drive. I might recommend that whomever has the update upload the file to Google Drive and use the "Share" feature with the others. Don't even have to download Google Drive as the web client is quite robust and it gets past some of the limitations of email. Just a thought.

That's a good idea. I received the email last night, but no attachment. I'm starting to think that maybe it's a sign that we shouldn't try it on the Genesis, with all the trouble we have trying to get the download.

Using the file from the Sonata seems rather risky.

It is a bit risky, but if it's the same head unit, same software version etc, I'm willing to give it a try. It may tell you when booting from the USB that the vehicle is incompatible thereby ending your attempt right then and there.

Different manufacture but possibly warrants concern and a mention here. My daughters brand new Dodge Journey Crossroad had issues with the NAV system. Her service man download software to a USB and tried to upload that into the car and fried her system. They had to install a new head unit. Just an FYI and I am not saying that could happen here. Just an FYI...

PM sent. I have the initiation file. You simply open it to a usb drive. I just did it myself and I am about to install in my Sonata.

Just downloaded latest map version 13. It has the android auto tab on the screen. Haven't used it though.

the download has been removed from the myhyundai site since last December when version 12.5 came out. the only way to upgrade and add Carplay and Android Auto is to purchase the new version 13 SD card.

It's crazy pricey. $150+ I think.

Just downloaded it to my existing SD card last week. $145 total

Know how much it goes for?

2016 Hyundai Genesis(only touch) Map Update-131S4DH

it looks like pre-2017 Hyundai's might be able to DL for $145,

those of us with 2017-newer that are under the Genesis brand and have the free for 3 years map service have to order the SD chip, no download for us.

FWIW that is half the price of most brands, my Lexus was $300, my wife's Toyota is $275.
