In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Any lowering springs for 2015 Genesis sedan?

A test set of ARK's lowering springs have been installed on my Genesis. I am somewhat happy with the drop while unhappy with it at the same time. I feel like the gap in my wheelwells can be reduced further but at the same time I feel like I like the retention of the drivability since the car isn't so low. As currently measured, I have a 2 1/4" (2 finger) gap in the rear and a 2 1/2" (3 finger) gap in the front. I will be getting an alignment done this coming Thursday after the springs have settled and will then take pictures and post them up. At this time, I've already contacted ARK to let them know how I feel about them and they said they will make some adjustments and let me know before the year's end to install an updated, possibly lower, set.

Unfortunately, I did not have time to take before measurements so I do not know how much the springs lowered the car.

Additionally, I'm on my stock 18" wheels so it's hard for me to tell how the car would look with proper 20" wheels and a more aggressive offset (I'm using Huddleston's car as a benchmark in my head lol).

If you want my opinion, the Storm Springs used by Huddleston already provide a perfect drop and are already available. Then again, I never knew how his car looked dropped before his Velgen wheels so there is nothing to compare the gaps too. However, the gaps should theoretically be the same as the overall diameter shouldn't have changed if the +1/+2 rules were followed.

Sorry for the wall of text. Especially since there aren't any pictures this is almost a useless post.

wheels do make the car look much different. I installed my wheels before lowering the car so I cant really post up pics of it prior to the drop.

Sorry for the delay in updates. Here are some pictures of her lowered 1.2"-1.4" with ARK Performance springs, sitting on 20" TSW Bathurst gloss gunmetal wheels:

Sorry for the busy background and terrible mid day lighting. I wasn't planning on taking pictures of her when I initially parked in front of my garage.

looks awesome to me!

thanks for sharing!

from pics looks like huddleson's is slightly lower

I agree! I was (and still am, actually) slightly disappointed that I still have a 2 finger gap all the way around when Huddleston's car looks flush, at least in the front. My rear looks a little lower in some pictures, but in others it looks the same. I'm wondering if his front is lower because it bears the weight of the 5.0 motor while my springs only bear the weight of the 3.8.

These are only test springs and a new set is supposedly making its way here from Korea for me to swap out and further test. As to how much lower the new springs will be or how much more aggressive the spring rates will be, I have no idea.

Every time I look at the wheel gap you have no idea how much I wish I went with Huddleston's Storm Springs in the first place.

I still think it looks great though!

Less aggressive drop means less concerned for speed bumps and inclines? Unless Huddleston doesn't have issues with that either

FWIW, this is the first lowered Genesis sedan with bigger wheels that I actually find more attractive than stock. I wouldn't lower it any more, I think it's just about right.

Thanks guys! I appreciate the compliments!

So.... What's happening with the current Springs :)

Not sure if ARK will want them back or if I get to sell them off. I'll let you guys know after the new ones get installed.

The car looks great man, love the wheels especially. Typically you would get to keep the springs after ARK has completed testing. At least that has been my experience in being the test subject for new products.

Approval from Huddleston! That means a lot considering I've been using your car as my baseline. This is my first time testing product for somebody so I have no idea what the rules are lol. Chances are you are probably right. Hope you had a good time in Vegas for SEMA and welcome back!

Thanks man - go check out my build thread and thread in the 2015 subforum or general talk forum for all the pictures. Took some great shots of the Genesis out west.

Keep up the modding!

Got contacted today by ARK to inform me they have another set of springs in house, this time of the gold color (as is the colors of their GT-S springs). The test set I have on now are orange (same as their GT-F line). Although they would not disclose what line each spring will slot into, the fact that they come in the different colors of their 2 different lines kinda hints (at least to me) that they are trying to release two types of springs, a moderate GT-F spring and a more aggressive GT-S spring. Again, this is all speculation so who knows. I do not work for them so of course they don't disclose this stuff to me.

The person I spoke with did confirm that this new set is indeed lower than my current set but was not sure by how much.

I will be having them installed on Wednesday of next week so I will let you know after that about the changes. This time I will make sure I measure the car's height before going in.

Very excited for you man! I hope the results are what you want.

sweet!!

they make you send the old springs back? i assume so

Not sure. It's their test springs so I don't know if it's still their property and my car was just a mule or if they no longer need them and I can do with them as I please. Never done this before so I don't know. Others who have tested products on their cars for other companies before have said that they get to keep the product at the end of the test run.

I'll let you guys know.

I have been the test car for multiple products, everything from suspension to turbo kits and typically you get to keep the end product. I wouldn't be surprised if they want this set of springs back but allow you to keep the final set at no cost. I believe the prototype stuff they generally like to keep in house.

ARK contacted me to let me know they had an opening a day early for install. As promised here are pics of the car on the new set of springs. As mentioned earlier, these are gold and are confirmed to be slotting in with their GT-S line. Their GT-S line is a lot more aggressive than their orange GT-F line, which I suspect I had on before these although it was never confirmed.

The springs I had on before measured 27.5" from the ground, through the wheel centercap, to the apex of the wheelwell arch. These new springs measure 26.75" using the same reference points. Unfortunately, I did not measure what the stock height was so I do not know how much lower the car actually is.

According to the guys at ARK, the first springs only lowered the car 0.75" while these lowered it 1.3"-1.5". Again, I could not verify this because I did not take before measurements when it was stock. Maybe somebody who is stock can measure using my same reference points and let us know how much of a drop it really is.

Overall, I am extremely happy this time around with the drop, as the wheels are visually flush with the fender. There was no rubbing whatsoever from any corners, even at full lock. The ride is surprisingly even more comfortable than it was with the other springs. These are not stiff in the least bit and I am definitely not riding on the bump-stops.
