  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anyone concern with the Genesis Low Sales Figures

I re-badged my Genesis because the wings look KILLER! Already had two people ask me what "Genesis" was. I told them (in my proud voice), it's a Hyundai!

Everyone who I've talked to loves the car. I always get double takes...

I don't think there is one person on this forum that re-badged their Genesis because they wanted to disguise the brand. Just just happens that the wings look DANK!

LaCrosse is a nice car and drives well. Drove one while I was waiting for service on my Genesis. My only complaint was the lack of power and it was very tight on the inside, front seats and back.
Looks like they are neck and neck a couple inches in the front cabin area.

Fully aware of the dimensions. But those can be deceiving. I felt cramped in the LaCrosse. A half an inch one way or another can mean quite a bit in an automobile.

Different people appreciate different types of spaciousness. Even for some taller people, leg room isn't as big a deal as hip or shoulder room.

I haven't driven in or sat in a Lacrosse, but I do think the Genesis feels generally very spacious, so I can understand moose66 feeling another car is tighter relatively.

The only place I would personally appreciate an extra inch is head room in the back seat. Of course, I'm probably not a typical rear seat passenger, being 6'1" with a long torso and big head. :P

I can tell you right now the rear seat head room is a fudged number on the Lacrosse. I imagine it was measured straight up from the seat cushion...instead of leaning back where your head would really be. I know because I sat in one and my head was pressed against the ceiling (6 foot tall.) That and the high sills, and wrap around roof, and corresponding narrow windows, made it very claustrophobic in the back of the Lacrosse. The Genesis was hugely more comfortable.

I started reading this thread to hear about sales. Of course it became the same suspension harrang. To answer the thread, I bought my 4.6 2010 December 1, I have driven 3000 miles mostly hiway since. My former car a 2006 Lexus LS430 rode different than my Genesis in many ways, I personally prefer my Genesis. That settles it for me. The Genesis performs as good or better than the Lexus in every way, comfort, milage, and equipment. I can not comment about the dealer as yet, the delivery was good, and I have required no service as yet. I would remind you al that the subjective aspects of the car, ride, accomadations are personal choice. The acutal performance is numbers. My Genesis Cost 39000, my 2006 Lexus was 61000 I am very please with my choice. I think the sales figures are the responsibility of the manufacutrer. I hope they are satisified, I expect to get another in 2012.

Cars have been selling well in Canada for the last few months. They announced on the radio news that a lot of Toyota and Volkswagen dealers have run out of certain models. No mention was made of Hyundais but when I took our Genesis into the dealer for service last week, the salesman told me they had run out of Genesis sedans at one point lately.

I wouldn't be ready to call the end of the recession yet. December is usually a time for huge discounts leading to a January of low inventory...as the new cars work there way into the inventory. December is always a good time to go car shopping.

Maybe Canada can take some off of everyone else's hands:

I've seen some of the huge new car storage lots at the Port of Los Angeles, and saw hundreds of new cars, many with completely flat tiires, sitting dockside at a port in Mexico recently. It's truly a sketchy time for automakers.

Well, Canada's manufacturers have taken a big hit during the recession. Our ever strengthening dollar pretty well guarantees demise for many of them. But our commodities sector which is much of our economy is doing well. So cars are selling again here and the real estate market is hot.

It seems lately that the only person obsessed is you - commenting about practically every thread about somethng ad and attacking everyone who doesn't like something about the car. And the relentless insistance that anyone with a suspension issue is crazy, lying, baseless, stupid, extreme minority, etc. Do you get suspended for calling someone stupid? Or does it have to be profane? The only one with baseless arguments at this point is you.

People aren't even driving 09s because of the relentless crying by some people here who have baseless arguments other than the fact that they don't like their cars. Hyundai is firming the suspension for 2010, and its not going to do anything for those who think the suspension is too firmly spring already, although given the relentless harping by some people here, I'm sure they will cry victory even if it means cutting their nose to spite their face. 2009s drive great, and everyone, save a small group of vocal decriers, thinks so. People don't give awards to cars that ride as poorly as some people here would have you believe.

Mark, you have increasingly little credibility here anymore due to your posts' persistent lack of evidence to back up your "facts".

Have you driven a 2010 Genesis?

Obsessive is when someone who doesn't even own a Genesis continues to jump back in and stoke the flames of an argument that should have died months ago.

That's obsessive.

He's just bitter; let him have his pill.

hours of endless amusement in here for sure. I remain interested in the topic and certainly earned my right to post what I like whenever I like. Just as others in here (see above) feel free to attack people in every thread who may disagree.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Back on topic. I'm still running into people that speak of talking about getting a Lexus ES. I laugh at there lost of just seeing things one way. I will continue to stick with Hyundai and looking forward to soon seeing the Equus on our shores.

I work at a large site about 4000k employees... The campus is large so it is common to drive from one meeting to another.
I still have people that have never heard of the Genesis, and surprised by how nice it is when I offer to ferry a group to the next meeting.
These are people in Hyundai's target market...
Male - 30 to 55 years old, 6 figure income... low end luxury (BMW 3, Lexus ES, C Class, CTS etc) are common daily drivers for this group.

I really don't care about sales figures because I know the car is a winner for me.

I was one of the first people in the country to buy a Lexus 400.
I was one of the first people in the country to buy a Ford Explorer.
I was one of the first people in this country to buy a Kawasaki ZX-14.
And now I am one of the first in this country to buy a Genesis sedan.

There is a BMW and MB on every corner in California. I like to be different. As a real estate investor I would rather have my money in something that goes up in value rather than goes down. (most all cars) It's called being smart. That's why you buy a good looking and performing car (Genesis) for a good value. I personally don't want sales to sky rocket because I don't want many around. All the winers on this site are very insecure and should be ignored. This is a excellent car for the money. Some people post stupid threads (like this one) on this site because their wives won't talk to them or they don't have a life. It's a shame--

I agree with you Doug, Just because someone is not a 100% fanboy and has a brain it seems to challenge the correctness of these guys buying decision and they feel they must defend it or look bad. That is of course not the case we bought the car also and love most of it, Personally I admit to looking bad for not having given the car a sufficient wring out in the ride department. Personally I just hate the harsh ride, but that someway makes me classless, a whiner, and generally a bad person, but the guys that will not fix the problem (Hyundai) are great guys. Make one wonder. Defend forever is good posting, point out an area of deficiency is bad posting, go figure.
