similar story here:
Two different updates at (nearly) the same time?...I was fiddling around, checking things out for the nav update...went out to the car ('25 GV60 Advanced) to run through the menu for the coming update and current versions..and found an automatically-running OTA update.
The update was only code-named (infotainment?...nav?...system? who knows?) as it was running, and this has apparently lead some to believe it was the nav update. I couldn't determine which it was at the time, and had to wait for it to finish to find out...it was 'voice recognition, redial, call-back'...big news for those of us who bought +$60K phone-booths.
Ok, back to the usb download...or eventual OTA(?).
Hyundai would do well to label the updates with appropriate names, not just inscrutable code names (blah, blah, 001.013.250305). It would also be a good idea to officially inform us that updates are coming, especially if they plan to continue issuing updates two at a time...just sayin'. If there is going to be an OTA of the nav system, or there isn't, Hyundai knows this right now. There is no good reason to withhold the OTA nav update plan.
I think the ICCU debacle may have all of Hyundai nervous about committing to anything, including delivery dates, or contents/intentions, of updates.

My admittedly cursory perusal of the nav feature after the OTA update didn't list, or show on the map, any Tesla charging stations. That was enough to lead me to believe nav was not updated. "What's new" only showed the phone changes...voice recognition, redial, and callback, as an earlier poster showed a screen capture of.
The nav update info advises to NOT turn the car off during that update, doesn't it? The OTA update I observed in progress (...250305) stated that it would resume that update next time the car was started, so it sounds like two diff updates to me, and nav is not, yet at least, available OTA.
Does anybody have courtroom-ready evidence of what is going on with these updates?

I updated via USB instead of OTA, but the update is listed as a combined update here and installing via USB updated both the Map and Software versions. The navigation update alone was 14.91GB, which would take quite some time over 4G LTE. I'm sure that it's possible for updates provided OTA to be installed separately and versions can be checked against the attached PDF.

Hyundai/Genesis is really bad at providing change logs for their updates. With the GV60 being a software defined vehicle, I think they really need to make improvements to this aspect.

I was finally able to download the update files and copy them to a USB drive. After formatting the drive a second time, the files finally "stuck" (remained on the drive).

Plugged the drive into the car, NAV seems to have updated, but after a LONG wait for what was apparently the second part of the update to process, the "audio system update" failed - on 2 separate occasions. No idea why or what that means...

Total time spent: more than 3 hours, AND it didn't finish.

Contrast this with the Tesla OTA update process: (I've done at least 30 updates over the past 7 years, on 3 different cars)

1) Update availability notice appears on car's screen
2) Choose "Now" or "Schedule for later" ( default time is 2:35 AM)
3) Wake up to an updated car with a full set of release notes available both on the car's screen AND in the Tesla app.

Done.

Total time spent: ~5 seconds, to acknowledge/schedule the update.

Software-defined vehicles can be fantastic, when done correctly. Our GV60 is decidedly NOT an example of how to do it.

But.... I talked to a car enthusiast who had owned a Tesla and he made an interesting observation. He said that the Tesla was clearly a car built be a technology company. It had great technology but was a poorly designed and built car. He said, many other cars, like our Genesis, is a high-tech car built by a "car" company. As a result, they get their butt kicked by the tech. All we can hope for is that in time, the car companies can master the tech and the tech company can master the cars!

This just in: it turns out that the update failed completely - nothing was changed.

I have yet to see a single Tesla with properly aligned body panels. Ever. Give it a try sometime!

Completely off topic, but since you brought it up, the panel alignment on all 3 of our Teslas is at least as good as our GV60. Neither holds a candle to the Audis we’ve owned, but who cares? Not me.

Back on topic, Genesis’ grasp of software updates sucks so far.

Maybe they’ll learn over time.

Let's call it $1000 if you can prove there are more body panels out of alignment on the GV60 than your Tesla(s). Hell, I'll give you the $500 if you even find a picture someone else took on the Internet.

OTA/software updates ARE the topic of this thread. Genesis has done a poor job with this stuff overall, as evidenced by this thread any many others like it.

My experience with these types of updates with our Teslas has been seamless, which makes the Genesis experience stand out as sub-par by comparison.

As I've stated many times before, I chose the GV60, and I like it, or we wouldn't have bought it. But it's far from perfect, just like every other car we've ever owned.

Agreed. Genesis has a long way to go with regards to software updates (among other things).

When I got my car 2.5 years again I would see on this forum that someone just got an OTA update, but for some reason I would have to wait a few months after that before I got my OTA. Then I had the issue later where there were more OTA's and I never got them and had to have the dealer install the updates. However within this last year , things have gotten better (at least for now). This latest OTA I just got today and it downloaded very quickly (15 minutes).

Took the car out yesterday to test my NACS adapter and to drive the car to see if it would download the latest update. Lo and behold it did! When I went to the general/software page it said it was, "installing navigation update in background", and if I turned the car off it would continue when the car was turned on again. Didn't finish by the time I got home, but we went out to dinner and it finished on the way home.

Haven't played with the navigation portion at all, but I was able to get wireless Android Auto and Car Play to work. It did take me quite some time, lots of fiddling, and multiple pair/unpair attempts before I figured it all out. Part of the problem was I didn't have Android Auto enabled on my phone. Duh!

It’s confusing, but I think OTA Available just means that the vehicle is capable of receiving OTA updates and not that there is an update available.

I’m not sure about.

My 2025 G70 has already received two OTA updates but not the most recent. Prior to the first update the Settings General screen said Update Available but I couldn’t initiate the update myself.

Now when I go to the Settings General screen it shows a grayed out USB Update even though there is a new update available.

I think Update Available may mean they’re acknowledging that there is a new update and they will initiate it OTA at some point in the future.

This "feels" right to me... car recognizes there is a new OTA, but it is not ready to apply (not downloaded, maybe prep/pre-routines still to do, whatever).
