  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Are you seeing more and more Genesis sedans lately?

Same here in LA dataguy. Bimmers especially the 3 series dominate the landscape. Trendy, European, rear wheel drive. I can't get over where they put those cupholders. Shameful.

That's because they're so attainable now -- they're not much more than a loaded Chevy Impala. BMW has diluted their brand. Personally, I've never seen the fascination with BMW - their cars' reliability ratings aren't all that great, I think the styling is outdated (especially the interior) and I just can't stand their ridiculous propaganda (ie: "advanced forward illumination system" = headlights.)

They do drive amazingly well - I will give them credit for that. If you're into sheer handling and performance, I'd certainly lean towards BMW. For a roomy, comfortable, luxurious everyday car -- no thanks!

Went to a Golf Event at Fort Belvoir (Virginia) on Friday -- saw a total of 3 Genny V8's (White, Silver and Red) lined up in front of the club house - I was totally surprised since there were only 200 folks in the tournament. Word is slowly getting out..

I know I am. I seem to see at least one every time I'm out for a drive. This has been the case for the past couple of weeks now.. I'm in West Palm Beach, Florida.. How about you?

:(Im just south of you working in Delray, there are 2 3.8's owners living off W Atlantic, 1 white nTech, 1 silver no tech and a hood wing mounted on rear deck (dealer instaled). My co workers are giving me weekly updates on sightings. This week i saw a Black 4.6 coming from a development near me. I miss the old days, but we who drive them gotta know that when they build it right and price it right they will sell, expect more company:cool:

I've had my Genesis two weeks and have seen only two others. I see more whooping cranes than that. I want Hyundai to succeed with the Genesis, but, selfishly, I enjoy being "unique." I also have a black Lexus GS350 and can't drive a mile without seeing six others just like it.

Well there is one more in SW Indiana... I bought mine 7-11-09 and so far I love it. Lots of compliments and people can't believe it is a Hyundai.

I've got my socks and shoes off (access to my toes), and have all my fingers working, but I'm struggling with the math here....

Dan :>)

:-) Exactly my point! Here in Wisconsin it seems the preferred color for a luxury car is black, particularly if it's a BMW. As Hyundai attempts to encroach on this turf, I accept it as an entirely reasonable ploy to gain market share by not trying to push too much change at once. As I recall, with the original Lexus LS, it was pretty much silver or bust.

I'm up to one sighting a day in so. Florida, few 4.6's and even fewer with tec packages. I was at Ft. Lauderdale air port, short term parking and the only open space was next to a gray 3.8 w/o tec. I noticed that his rear turn signals had visible yellow bulbs while my car doesn't show yellow...I think some ware along the way silver coated bulbs were installed, I had the drivers side replaced due to moisture in the lense maybe a 09 change or dealer mod?

I'm in SE PA and have seen 3 one is 5 mins from my home.

I've seen 3 total in the greater Seattle area since March of this year. One white V6, one that was ghetto pimped  (ugly damn thing) and one black on black. That's it in over 5 months of driving around.

I can only recall seeing one on the road in LA, not only in the 3 months I've owned one, but anytime before. Except at a dealership (and driven by a tech) or on video, I've never seen another one in motion!

I see tons in Seoul...:)

and a good handful in Boston.

I'm seeing one in my garage now.

(Sorry, proud papa.)

And today I was at an auto focus group that targeted Genesis owners, so I got to meet 7 other owners. :)

Other than at a dealership, this was the largest collection of Genesis sedans I've seen. Interesting notes: I think 5 of the 8 were black sedans and a couple were rebadged.

Just curious whether anyone here is one of the folks in my focus group this morning?

Just got back from the Greenbrier in WV.. got 26.8 MPG's from DC to Sulpher Springs doing 70 to 85 up and down the mountains. Valets swarmed the vehicle and had tons of questions. They were stunned. I was the first Genesis Sedan they had ever seen.

I think the double-take moment has evolved into "there goes another Genesis"!

I have parked next to one three times at a Mex restaurant, chinese take-out and mall parking lot. Last week my neighbor called me when I was out of town because she claimed she saw my Gen speeding 60 in a 35, but I assured her it was not mine.

I have to give credit to Napletons and I suppose Rick Case for selling them, although I preferred it when I was the only one on the road.

I think one dealer rebadges the car while the other seems to add pin-stiping and keep the "H"?

Saw my second Genesis this morning. I pulled out on the country road going south just as a wine red Genesis went by going north. I had no time to react by blinking my lights and the other driver didn't either. That makes three of us in this general area: beige, wine red, and my silver.

Starting to see a few more in the Atlanta area. I have seen 4 now; White, 2 Blacks, Silver

I still haven't seen another one here in CT, but I saw one yesterday in Cairo! Looked like a base 6-cylinder.
