I have the same problem . Hyundai dealer re calibrated it which held for a week then it happened again . Dealer said the fix is to replace the entire BSD system at $1400 CAD . Whatever was my reply ... likely a short or something since its intermittent . Unfortunately same old hyundai dealer service . Many hyundai models suffer from this ailment there must be a simple fix . Perhaps debrix or salt ?? In Ontario ..
Is your vehicle no longer under warranty? Were you charged for re-calibration.
My issue seems to now have the system resetting itself, only to go right back out again. I hopped in the car to go to the bank today and it was working. Before I stopped the engine, the check BSD system light flashed on again. Came out of the bank and it was back to working. Drove home and it threw a fault again, before I was even back in to my garage. For grins, I restarted the car and the BSD went back to working again.
If you experience is any indicator, it may simply be that Hyundai dealers are slow to warranty the issue for parts replacement, no matter the circumstances. I don't know if systems like this qualify for a safety recall, but reading elsewhere does suggests the parts used for the BSD system are somewhat problematic; and any light fender touching on the bumper corner exposes an inherent weakness in this system's reliability. Sort of a fragile part to put in one of the most vulnerable and exposed spots on the vehicle.
