  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I switched to Map 1 for my drive home from work this morning, and the car seemed to react much better to this setting vs. the Map 2 it was originally set to. I can certainly feel the difference between this and the RaceChip still in Map 1, as the RaceChip provides a crazy surge of torque when the turbos spool, whereas the power delivery of the JB4 seems a little more deliberate. I can definitely feel the difference up high in the RPM ranges with the JB4, it pulls much harder than the RaceChip up top.

I attached a copy of the log file for anyone interested in checking it out, I'm still working on how to decipher it myself. I noticed that at one point it seemed that the car pulled the timing on several of the cylinders, bad gas perhaps? I suspect this was right after the transmission shifted gears. I'll definitely post it online on N54tech for Terry to see, and maybe the Stinger forums as well as I'm already a member there. It just needs to have the .txt at the end removed of the name to open, not sure how to post a csv type file here without the rename.

Power up top is thanks to the fuel wires if you have them installed.
looks for steep dips in IGN when not shifting gears at full throttle. Random dips here are there are okay but if it cascades like a waterfall on the other cylinders, it is knock!

Map 2 on 94 octane should be a beast.

Is the OBDII cable hooked up?
Did the prior owner mess with the settings? Perhaps the JB4 can be reset back to stock.

OBD2 is connected. I had a look at the app, it doesn't appear that there is a button for resetting to default settings.

Honestly it might just not have took when you clicked map 2. Just cause we have the lately tech for phones doesn’t mean they are always perfect. Just try setting it to map 2 again. Cruise around for a little bit and give it another try.

I am wondering similar, that the JB4 didn't really take effect until I myself switched to map 1 from the initial map 2 setting. I'll be checking out map 2 tonight and grabbing a log for that as well. Fingers crossed that it works out properly.

Good. Just make sure you give it a little time to adjust after you switch it. I just put my car into a learning process for race gas and map 7. Should have some decent logs on it tonight when it cools off

Probably detected a different VIN and didn’t take into effect!

I heard back from Terry through email, he said everything looks good on log file for map 1, now he needs to see map 2 log. 😎

4.8sec. on Map3? are those cars launch that bad? I ran 4.68 on Map 2 -93 octane and 4.42 on Map 5 -~97 octane mixture.
Oh yea, my car is ~700lb heavier.

Well good for you. And what kind of heat were you dealing with?

Are you losing traction with RWD?
The Stinger guys reduce boost in the first 3 gears to help with traction!
