Hello Everyone,
I am new to this forum.
I am in the market for a new sedan.
Loved the 2015 genesis among all the cars I drove. These are the things I like in the car:
1- looks
2- standard options
3- interior
4- drive & feel.
5- Price -better competitive/negotiable than any other car
6- wonderful warranty
7- Rear space
The only other car I am considering is the new TLX. The base TLX v6 is more or less in the same price range and has almost similar power as the '15 genesis 3.8.
I agree that the genesis is a better looker, also comes with many standard options than TLX.
However there are a few things that still pulls me towards TLX:
1- The acura brand's name & Reliability.
2- MPG. Tlx has the concept of shutting down one of the cylinders at slow speeds thereby increasing fuel efficiency [mpg as 22-34] - i know its not a lot & I shouldn't look for mpg when shopping cars in this class. But common !!! who wouldn't be interested.
3- All wheel steer- Fancy new stuff they are introducing, but not sure how good that may be.
4- Drive feel is almost up there with the genesis
5- Call me cheap, but insurance is $80 less than the Genesis for 6 months
,
I understand this is a genesis forum, though I still need your honest opinion since you are already driving or have driven one. I would like to know the following
1- MPG , does the eco mode has any significance on gas consumption
2- How good is the cost of maintenance (heard Acura requires premium gas and high service maintenance), does Genesis require premium gas and how much you spend on maintenance
3- Reliability- any major complaints/issues , recalls
4- I m planning to keep the car for long , so is it reliable when it comes to running beyond 100k miles.
Please don't mind my ignorance and point anything if I may have overlooked. Your opinion will help me a lot in making the decision.
Thank you in advance,
Tony.
