  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Changing door lock setting

Press on the lock and unlock on the keyfob till you see the red light on the key blink. That's how you change it.

Thanks, worked perfect on my 2012 base, as noted by others here, but my wife said she never uses her keyfob to open the door (keeps it in purse).
So I tested it by using the button only on the door latch and it worked the same: one push opened all doors!
Again, thanks for the great tip.

Did not work on my 2010.

Worked on my 2013 Rspec

It also worked on my 2012, but I like the Avalon locking system much better. All I do on it is touch any of the four door handles to open all the doors. Don't need to push anything. And to lock, there's a button on all four doors where the Gennie only has the front two. This isn't to say I like everything about the Avalon better. It certainly isn't as entertaining to drive.

Worked on my wifes 2012 Kia Optima:) There is no led light indicator on the key fob, but the hazard lights flashed a couple of times to signify success. Works like a charm:cool:

Finally remembered to try this...no luck with my 09 neither:(

Funny, when I changed my door unlock setting to open all doors with one press, I think the speed activated door locking feature went away. Anybody else?

i was wrong. The speed activated door locks are still working. No problem.

Worked perfectly on my '11 4.6! My wife today was telling me how annoying it was trying to figure out how many times to press button to unlock all doors! Lol.. I dont have red light on key fob but my car lights blinked on/off like 4 times when i activated this feature.. Thanks!
