  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I was clay baring my 3 month old Genesis 4.6 when I noticed for the first time two small clear plastic patches just forward of the rear whell arch. They are the size of 3" x 5" cards, one horizontal and one vertical, with rounded corners and are on both sides. It looks like the aftermarket material applied to headligh lens. Does it have a purpose? Is this something that the dealer missed removing? I assume I can heat gun it off.

That is oem protective cover to keep paint from being damaged by rocks. All Genesis sedans have it. It is not after market. Many Luxury car brands have this protection somewhere on the body. My BMW has it as well.

i have that too,

but mine is coming off :(..anyone experienced that before?

you can heat gun it off, but I just left it alone. Don't even notice it anymore.

Thanks. It's an odd place for two small patches. I would think that the rear of the wheel arches are more prone to rocks and road debris.
