  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just downloaded the new software update for my 2023 GV80 via USB stick, so now have my Android Auto showing without that useless Android Auto screen and instead it populates with either my music or my google map. I wasn't aware we could do this and was waiting for an OTA update. No need. Just download the installer from the link below and follow the directions. Good luck!

You must have installed the spring update for 2022. The autumn update should be coming out before December. Updates are published for download to USB twice a year for most Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis models.

Nope, it looks like the autumn update came out early. It has several new things...but most are trivial (like new sounds of nature, or being able to use french or spanish in voice recognition)

I love it, it doesn't even allow the native map to show when using Android auto. Very happy with the update👍

You can download load the Oct. 2022 Software Update now, but if you would like to order the USB with the Software Update it will not be available until sometime in November.

sorry this was meant as a reply to JJl256

I "think"there are far more changes then I realized. In navigation I tried to use the map scale based in speed.. Can't find it anywhere?? If anyone does the Oct/22 update and can find the scale, please let me know.
Secondly on the nav screen when you put it in 3D mode, the top 1/3 of the screen use to be blank, now it is full screen.. "great".
These are just 2 things I found, there must be many more changes Genesis is to telling us..
Again if anyone can find the screen that map scale based on speed , let me know.. Thanks

The new 3D implementation is a very nice improvement. Now if they would only change back the nav volume control…….

If you are speaking of the volume level control for the audio that some of us who have the 2022 G80 have been posting about, in that they did not address it in this latest update I am doubtful that it will ever be addressed,

Yes, the volume adjustment control method of the GPS turn-by-turn instruction voice., I think it was one of the dumbest things they ever did. A perfect example of change just for the sake of change. The apparent compulsion of some people to change something that works perfectly to some other more quirky method that doesn’t work very well at all in use, just because they can. No thought of the results, just “We can change that, so let’s do it.” DUH.
Sorry for the rant. It’s just one of my many pet peeves.

Excellent peeve--I totally agree with you on soooo many areas!

@ckon I dont want to be looking for problems (one of those "now I cannot un-see it" moments), but what issue are you having with the nav volume control? Is it with the native nav?

My car is a 2021. Originally, with the old level software, the GPS volume worked like most - if you can’t quite hear an announcement, grab the volume control and give it a twist. Logical and fast and applicable during the event. It also worked perfectly if the voice volume was too loud - instant correction.

Now after the geniuses have “improved!??” it, with a software update, you need to go into the menu, select the Guidance Volume, guess at an adequate volume level, set it and hope that it’s useable for you. If not, start over. And, even then, it probably won’t be right the next time. It’s no different than having to go into a menu to change the radio volume.

It’s obvious that whoever made the decision to make that change has never used the system. I just don’t know what drives these changes. I just know it wasn’t a considered attempt to make the system easier to use. A total fail!

Ahh... got it. I don't use native nav, just AA. Now I hope they did not do the same for AA nav volume

I think you can also adjust the volume while you are using the navigation by pressing on the map, then it repeats a phrase so you can adjust the volume to your liking.

Maybe, but still too little, too late.

All changes should be fully documented so users can decide if they even want to apply the update, and so users don't have to play detective to figure out what changed after the update. Probably too much to ask.

Agreed. However seems to be an industry thing. I've been downloading latest AA to try to get coolwalk, but google is same, won't tell you what updates it fixes are in build. At least it's a little easier to back out

I posted this in another similar thread. I just installed the most recent update and noticed the speed limit indicator in the HUD has disappeared after the update. It is there while the system is starting up, then vanishes.
