3.3T Ecu tune

I'm looking for a smooth, reliable tune that just unlocks more power and less limiting. It's a daily driver not a race car. Only one place in my town has 93 octane, rest is 91. And I'm in Texas so it gets hot in the summer. I was thinking of getting the 91 octane tune to be safe, with the understanding that it can adjust a little upwards if I fill it with 93. So right now, I have:

91 octane
1.4 bar
boost ready: off (so many updates with this setting as he's worked on it...)
power by mode: no
catalyst heating: not sure, which is stock behavior?
open air filter: should I choose yes or no if I might install some drop in high flows with the stock intakes?
no exhaust work or WMI/CPI planned
no popcorn

For the TCU:
-8%
Pressure: 1
Torque limit: off
like brake snip: no (I guess?)
auto upshift: no
more powerful sport shift: no (I think this isn't necessary on 2022 with sport+ ?)
smooth 2-1 downshift: yes

Does coasting in ECO still work with the TCU tune?

Thoughts?

Those settings should get you a smooth and fast car! Good choices.

Catalyst heating is warming up the cat on a cold start. Mine is on.
Open air filter can stay set to no even if you change the filters and deleted the intake elbows or add Velossa Techs..
TCU looks like the perfect setup. I haven't seen the brake snip option before.

That was my idea too with the boost ready off. Lozic assures boost on will not wear anything out. I guess we shall see! Glad to hear you’re loving it!
Took another ride yesterday Took another drive yesterday. Comfort Inn eco-lite driving only about 3 to 4 PSI but really like the Quick Throttle response with the full Boost ready. This updated tune is definitely more refined than my original Lozic tune . With option B reduced power in Eco and comfort I don't feel the need to swap ECU for a long road trip , nice smooth not as aggressive as full power with Boost ready that i had previously.

My 2 cents is if you are interested in and decreasing lag and better throttle response I would say boost ready On. Then with power by mode you have the option for better throttle response less lag in Eco , comfort still like stock but sport mode is aggressivebut smooth. Hope this helps. As far as TCU settings you're spot with my suggestion

Good point. It sounds like Lozic has really refined Boost ready ON. My new tune has it ON as well.

Thanks for pointing that out!

Received ECU, I only took 2 short drives but this setup is the best for me so far. Very smooth acceleration. In comfort mode just putting around when softly accelerating about 5psi with full boost ready. Not sure where boost is with stock ECU. My goal was to lower boosting when normal cruising. BUT, I still believe that boost ready @ 1800 would be a good option, enough for now maybe next year unless Lozic wants to send me one to test out.
That was my idea too with the boost ready off. Lozic assures boost on will not wear anything out. I guess we shall see! Glad to hear you’re loving it!

hey Guys,

I asked Lozic a while back about the drop in filters and he suggested to select open air intake as it would give us a wider power band. Not sure how big a difference it really makes mind you.

Does cat heating make the start louder? Just warms it faster? It's usually hot here so probably not a big deal either way.
So open air filters is more for if you're installing new full intakes?
I don't think I want power by mode. One of the things I really like about the stock tune is that you don't have to be in sport+ to get full power. Most of the time just cruising on the highway I'm in comfort or eco. But if I suddenly need to punch it I want full power always.

Talk to me more about boost ready. What exactly is it doing? Benefits and potential drawbacks? From my understanding it keeps the turbos spooled when just cruising to reduce lag when you step on it. And there's no option to select it only for a certain mode. How does it feel when just driving around normally? Any less smoothness?

Does coasting still work with the TCU tune?

I think what he was saying is it gives you more head room for A/F adjustment. That is going to be dependent on how much boost you run as well. A 1.5bar tune with open air intake will require more fueling than a 1.3bar tune with open air intake.

He told me with drop in NO for open air intake specifically because my exact question was if I get tuned for drop in then add a cone cold/ram air intake do I need to get returned. He said yes.

hmmm, I’m going to go find my question to him, maybe there was some mis understanding. Your question seems much more precise than what I asked.

okay so below is what i wrote to him, so maybe some miscommunication, also on my order sheet it was selected open air filter YES, but in the comment section I put drop in AEM filter for open air filter and we did discuss that's that what I was going to use, so whether or not he set up for drop in or open air filter I'm not sure, I will ask him. He hasn't been responding in the last few days so I just assumed he's on vacation.

Also, I have not installed my air filters yet and the car seems to be working very good without them, do you think this makes a difference?
If you use open air filter, you will get more wide and higher power curve.

Hey guys, lozic wrote me back last night, this is what he said:

I selected open air filter YES but I only have AEM drop in filters. Am I tuned for OPEN AIR FILTER or DROP IN FILTER?
- It was applied with a setting suitable for the open air filter.
If a drop in filter is used, an error of about 0.05 bar may occur.
There won't be much difference in power.

Good info on the air filter setting, thanks. Repost of some stuff I asked earlier below just so it doesn't get lost:

Does coasting still work with the TCU tune?

Can someone talk a little more about boost ready? Benefits and potential drawbacks? From my understanding it keeps the turbos spooled when just cruising to reduce lag when you step on it. And there's no option to select it only for a certain mode. How does it feel when just driving around normally? Any less smoothness? Surges? I know there were issues initially and that it's been smoothed out, but I'm wondering how smooth.

Recommendation for 1.3 vs 1.4 bar? Lozic said "1.4 bar for high torque and high output, and 1.3 bar for stability" so now I'm thinking 1.3 may be better..

I can’t speak to tcu or ready boost on as I don’t have them however I will be re tuning to have ready boost on, there is some initial lag for me when cruising and want to get up and go so I want to get rid of that.

I’m at 1.5 bar and it really smooth overall except for the turbo lag.

I've enjoyed boost ready so far.

Would you be willing to go into some more detail about how it feels driving around normally?
Mine only comes on when I'm driving aggressively. I had it set to not engage until 2200 RPM.

Cool, gotcha. Anyone else with thoughts on the recent version of boost ready?

I finally had the opportunity to install and test the new 1.3bar with boost ready on and it's amazing. First and most important to me, it's very smooth power delivery. Second, the car responds the way I like it to in terms of throttle response and power output. Did I mention it just flies!? Everything seems so effortless. Full throttle is just so quick.

Thanks, sounds great. Would you be willing to send me what you ordered? Or take a look at my form? How'd you decide 1.3 vs 1.4 bar?
