  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Electric GV70

So I just came back from a Boston to Québec cruise, because of the distance between the starting and ending ports I left the car home for 10 days (Did the trip going to Boston in a Greyhound bus and from Québec by train). This being the EV, I left with an 85% charge, and came back to find the charge at 84%. So for anyone owning the EV and wondering about leaving it for a few weeks, you won't find a dead battery on your way back.

After about a week the car went into some sort of sleep mode, the app couldn't geolocate it, stating the car hadn't been started in a few days and would need to be started again for these services to work. Pretty sure this is to save on battery drainage, seems to work!

Aligns with our experience leaving our GV60P for 5+ months on 2 different occasions - negligible charge loss and no issues.

Hey guys I need a favor from those of you who own a 2026 GV70e. I'm about to take delivery of one tomorrow and when I was wrapping up the deal yesterday I was not able to locate the J1772 to NACS adapter in the car. We did find the CCS to NACS... Based on what I see here and in the Ioniq 5 groups it does appear that they supply both AC and DC NACS adapters correct? So (1) where was the J1772 adapter located when you collected your car and (2) is there any documentation that states that the car comes with both adapters? The salespeople were not very familiar with the various adapters... Understandable.. However if the car is supposed to be shipped with both and one is missing then they should find a replacement right? Thanks in advance.

Mine came with both adapters in a black case located in the trunk. If one is missing they should get you a replacement.

Well I never got the J1772 adapter with the car, instead it came with a 24 kW portable charger with a NACS connector.. They must have "upgraded" the J1772 adapter with this. Since I got the car at fire sale prices the dealer was not willing to toss in any freebies. I figure no reason to haggle over $40. I even got a spare one from ebay unwanted previously owned tesla ones for $20. Overall loving the car for being an un-EV... i.e. sunroof that opens, regular door handles, charging port in the front. :)

Yes they made a good job with it, I read China may make flush door handles illegal, those are a safety hazard and I'm surprised that's the first country to go in that direction (Hopefully others will follow). Two years in and that car still puts a smile on my face when I take the wheel, hoping the same to you and enjoy!

Forgot to mention: no "zero emission" stickers or any other clue of its propulsion method. Perfect for my needs. Contrast to the Teslas having to put on fake Toyota badges or "I hate Elon" bumper stickers which are hysterical.... :ROFLMAO:

Hi all. Does anyone here have a TuxMat 'SuperTrunk' Cargo Tray in their eGV70's cargo compartment? If so, how do you like it? And do you feel it's better than the WeatherTech cargo tray equivalent? I'm looking to buy a cargo tray for my '23 eGV70.
Thx, Richard

I don’t have that particular mat, but I’ve read good things about them.

I have this one for our GV60, and really like it. Seems similar in concept to the Tuxmat stuff:

We actually have those 3D Maxpider mats and cargo trays for all of our cars. HTH.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I have the Weathertec and like it a lot. Haven't seen that one, but it looks great in the photo.

UPDATE:
FYI - I went ahead and ordered the TuxMat 'SuperTrunk' cargo tray-mat for my eGV70. 'SuperTrunk' is provided as a 3-piece set, with the #2 and #3 mat pieces attaching to the back of the 2nd row seat-backs for added protection and appearance. I received the shipment yesterday and installed everything today. I'm really impressed with the design and quality of these mats and they certainly dress up an otherwise bland cargo compartment area. For me I think these mats are pretty perfect and I'm happy with the result.

I got the Genesis one, didn't ask for it but the salesrep included it as a freebe when I got the car. It does the job fine, but Tuxmat's solution is definitely more comprehensive.

That was thoughtful of your sales rep to include the 'Genesis' premium cargo tray-mat as a freebee when you got the car. That particular accessory retails for about CAD $300 at the Genesis store.

I recently bought a set of like-new 'Genesis' premium all-weather floor liners from a local fellow who traded his '23 eGV70 for a '25 Ioniq 9. He accepted my offer of $125 for the full set.
Photos of the installed floor liners below...

Oh I also got those free with the car, I hadn't mentioned it because I was thinking of getting Weathertech mats then, but since I got them free, I'm a happy camper. He also gave me the foldable flap that you can put down to cover the rear bumper when you load stuff in the trunk, but I can't say I use that because it's kind of hard to reach under the cargo mat, and I usually already have my hands full with whatever I want to cram in the trunk when it opens.

I'm just careful instead, nothing bad happened yet and also the rear bumper has been wrapped like the rest of the car, so that specific accessory is a bit of overkill, but it was a nice touch nonetheless.

Wow! You certainly got a lot of pricey freebees when you bought your eGV70! That was great going.
The next time I buy a new Genesis I need to work with the same Genesis distributor (and sales rep) that you went with. Those guys are generous!

It might be a bit away from you as it was Genesis Laval (An island just north of Montreal), also if you are from the states, there might be a tarrifs issue bringing it south of the border...🤷

Oh, so it was Genesis Laval. I was sort of half-kidding when I mentioned I need to work with the same Genesis distributor and sales rep for my next Genesis purchase. I knew you are located in Quebec - I reside in London, ON, some 750 km away. I was actually born in Montreal and lived there for 27 years, so I know the overall area very well, including Laval. My wife has siblings who still live in Montreal (Verdun).

Fyi - I'll likely keep my '23 eGV70 until early 2027, at which point I might well be interested in buying the upcoming new 2027 GV70 EREV (Extended Range Electric Vehicle). The new EREV is set to debut globally in December 2026. Below are links to a couple of articles about it:

The dealership is located within a Hyundai on Des Laurentides boulevard (Initially they had a spot within the Carrefour Laval mall), they are to build a separate Genesis dealership at a different location but have been delayed by city permits bureaucracy. It should be up in a few months once everything is cleared up.

For myself I'll stick with the EV, if I don't have too many reliability issues, I'd like to keep it 7-8 years. I read about the EREV, I anticipate it will sell like hot cakes, because of the way it adresses range anxiety. On the other hand, for me the current range is adequate, more is always better but I don't find myself wanting. From a reliability standpoint, EV's are simpler with much fewer moving parts, while plug-in hybrids with two powertrains represent maximum complexity, and the risk of something breaking down in there is much higher.

If peace of mind on range comes at the expense of reliability, I don't know... I've been burned before with the dash lighting up like a Christmas tree on multiple occasions with a hybrid RAV4 (Not even a Prime!), so maybe my view is a bit biased here though! 😉
