  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

But wait, there is more....

Checked the Sprint Booster website (not the ebay website listed above) and sure, the say it is an easy plug in device, plus they show a "drop down" gas pedal with the booster being plugged in. Only problem is that our Genesis' don't have a drop down gas pedal. Ours have a gas pedal that is hinged to the floorboard. No idea where something like this would be plugged in.

Also see that their website is both in English (British flag) and Italian (Italian flag) and the product is made in San Mauro (TO) which I believe is close to Torino (Turin) Italy.

Very interesting!!!

Not for me.

Definitely sounds sketchy...

I wish there was a way to prove that it actually DID win "Best In Show" at SEMA this past year...if so, I would probably look in to it a little more!

Well...after 2 min. of research on SEMA's website....ITS TRUE!

The Sprint Booster was there and they won the "New Product award for 2009!"

I guess this little thing really does do something special! HA!

At first I thought it was one of those little $20 resistors that get you 132 MPG's...HA!

Go for it PING!

Go for it PING!

HA!!! I would...but Im in Alabama and I dont have the time to drive to Georgia or Florida for the "free trial!"

If any of our GENESISOWNERS supporters live in one of the states listed on the website, when you get the opportunity, get the free trial and report back.

My $300 this month is going to a set of tires:o

I have the SPRINT BOOSTER on my 335i BMW. It improved throttle responce, tip in, it amplifies the signal to throttle my wire.I plan to put it on my wife's 2010 4.6 genesis, because it needs it. DON

I have a BMW and there has been very positive comments about the Sprint Booster on BMW forums. I haven't bought one for my BMW, my wife drives it and she has no complaints about throttle response.
Manufacturers have used the electronic throttle control to edit throttle functions so as to manage torque (reduce it at full throttle in lower gears) and smooth throttle transitions. With Sprint Booster the throttle becomes absolutely linear.
The only possible downsides I see is a potential for somewhat jerky driving if you cannot drive smoothly; and I wonder if cruise control might be oversensitive.
Nevertheless, I just ordered one from the eBay site mentioned. I'll do a report for this forum.

Thanks in advance for this....I'm really looking forward to your report.
Me excited!!!!

REY!!!!

You just made my day!!!

I really hope it works and I am curious to see how it does with cruise control!

Keep us updated and if it really does make a difference than I will contact them and try to set up a group buy or something!

maybe I am misunderstanding what this product does...

It is tricking the ECU to think the gas petal has been pressed further than it actually has.

Explain how this really helps?

All I know is that when I push my throttle down there is a delay. Will this help that you think? I don't know if my car has a problem or is designed this way.

Suggest you go to their site to see "how it works". Since the advent of fuel injection mfgs have built dampening into their throttle actions. Many drivers drive on the gas, off the gas, on the gas - unable to maintain a steady foot. A sensitive throttle would make the car seem jerky. So mfgs dampened throttle motion and made it non lineal. The first half inch changes little. What this aftermarket company has done is to return the throttle action to a lineal action, much like if it was wire connected, as they all were years ago.

I was an engineer that worked on electronic throttles. The pedal assembly gives one piece of information only, the pedal position. It gives no timing information. Therefore, the only thing this device can do is change the reported position of the throttle pedal vs. the actual position. It can't change the timing built into the computer. You can do the exact same thing yourself by just pressing the pedal further. In fact, this device actually takes away pedal control when you are trying to feather the pedal...like when you are trying to creep forward.

IMHO, this is a bad idea. Not only that, it is another device in the system that could have the potential to fail...maybe even produce a full pedal signal when the operator isn't pressing the pedal.

I wonder that is what Toyota install in its cars!

Would anyone be interested in a group buy? Probably need 10 people to get any kind of discount. Not sure if they'd even do that.

As far as installation goes; because the pedal is mounted to the floor, would anyone know how to install this?
